The Z06 C8 Corvette

The mid-engine Corvette C8 redefined the modern price-to-performance equation, and the Z06 version hones it to a razor’s edge. With a naturally aspirated 670-hp 5.5-liter flat-plane-crank V-8 it sings to 8500 rpm while the chassis works to defy physics. Absolutely huge air intakes and an aerodynamically effective—rear wing; carbon-fiber wheels with tires measuring more than 13.5 inches wide at the rear. This rocketship hits 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds, two-tenths faster than the Porsche 911 GT3. Wanna go faster? 100 mph came up in 5.9 seconds stretching the gap over the GT3 to seven-tenths.

Straight up, the just kills it.

The 1967 Barracuda

Imagine… your wife loves the ’67 Barracuda and you want to build one for her. Then you get the idea to keep it hidden while the build goes on. For FOUR YEARS! Without her seeing it! EVER!

This is what Lee managed to pull of with Judy’s ’67 Barracuda. He built the car in the garage at their house but kept the windows papered over with only a picture of the car for her to see from outside for all four years, until the reveal this past spring! What an unbelievable commitment to a vision!

We shot this car in the midst of a very humid heat wave and battled dew, mosquitoes and killer no-see-ums the whole way… Gotta say, this I sone of my favorites!

Lee somehow managed to keep his wife out of the garage for an amazing FOUR YEARS while he secretly built a 1967 Barracuda for her. A dedicated man indeed!!! Meanwhile a Demon, a Dart and that American Graffiti deuce sit nearby…. How do you make THAT choice when going out time comes around???! This will be printed on a 2’ by 3’ sheet of aluminum and installed in Lee’s office where he and future generations can admire his work for generations to come!

Earlier this year, I had the chance to work with the very gracious Stacey David and his excellent crew on an art project involving his beloved Sgt. Rock truck.

Not only is Stacey a very (VERY!) cool guy, the truck we've all seen on his show is magnificent! The attention to detail in both the construction as well as the final finishes is beyond compare and I hope everyone who loves to see high-end work has the chance to some day see this iconic build first-hand.

As we were chatting at his studio/shop, I also had the opportunity to sit down for a podcast chat with Stacey and talk a little about not only my history with cars but also the process of creating a light-painted art piece. The podcast is available on most channels where you access your podcasts, including YouTube.

A few months after the podcast, I was back at Stacey's studio with my son Troy who grew up watching Trucks! and we were able to start work on a 60" metal art piece featuring Sgt. Rock. The results were amazing and Stacey now has that piece, ready to hang in his studio! If you have the chance to see my own gallery at one of several shows in the coming year, you'll see a slightly smaller version hanging there as well.

It’s out! Get Lit Creative’s most recent project features the likes of none other than ’s Sgt. Rock! This 1941 Dodge Power Wagon (originally) features a host of custom work and tributes to soldiers of every war since the Revolutionary War and it’s absolutely amazing to see in person!

The Light Painting project was shot with over 600 separate images during a multi-hour shoot in Stacey’s studio and was ultimately printed on a 40” x 60” piece of photo-quality sheet aluminum. What better way to go with an overwhelming Monster truck than to print it on an overwhelming large 5-FOOT sheet of metal?!
