They may be in the dark with the power outage, but here's a vendor spotlight - The Flower Bar 💐 We've visited their shop for a 4H event back in October, and had a blast working alongside Tony and Julianne. Hi, I’m Rachel, the Founder and Operations Manager of Penn Mountain Event Co., and I’m excited to share a little about myself.

Born and raised in Ridgway, I grew up with a deep connection to this community. While attending college for Graphic Design Management, I spent several years living and working in Pittsburgh, where I built experience across event staffing, marketing, design, and business operations. In addition to academics, I worked in event staffing and security at Heinz Field, Stage AE, and the Pavilion at Star Lake.

I was drawn back home after graduation to pursue freelance graphic design and photography for local clients. I met my husband Nathan, we bought my childhood home, and we are now raising our three children while being team husband-and-wife entrepreneurs.

Creating Penn Mountain Event Co. was a natural extension of my passion for business, creativity, and community. In addition to event operations, I am a professional wedding photographer (Rachel Shaffer Photography) and the owner of a marketing and design agency (Outliner Media & Graphics), allowing me to bring a well-rounded, creative perspective to every project. I also run Riverview Campsites in Benezette with my husband, further strengthening my ties to local tourism, hospitality, and small business.

I’m proud to have built Penn Mountain Event Co. here in Elk County and look forward to working with clients and vendor partners to create meaningful, well-executed events that reflect the heart of the PA Wilds.

Hi, I’m Jacquie, the Event Manager at Penn Mountain Event Co., and I’m excited to introduce myself.

Born and raised in the Ridgway area, I left home to build my career in the hospitality and events industry. After graduating from the IUP Academy of Culinary Arts, my journey took me across the country, working in culinary arts, catering, convention services, restaurants, and corporate food service in cities like Boca Raton, Washington DC, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Phoenix.

With nearly 25 years of experience, returning home in 2022 with my husband and our three kids felt like a full circle moment. Bringing that experience back to the community that raised me was an easy and meaningful decision. I’m passionate about connecting clients, vendors, and venues to create seamless, unforgettable events while supporting and growing our local event and tourism community.
