I'm a full time high school English teacher; however, I'm thankful that my love for photography has given me the chance to pursue a passion outside of the classroom! I personally believe that a good picture isn't really about the image, but how you feel when it's being taken, so I want to create an experience that is stress-free, fun, and memorable!

I’m so excited to share these today! Everyone meet baby Charlotte 💕 At three weeks old, sweet “Lottie” did such a great job at her first photoshoot! She was wide awake and taking it all in for our entire session — she didn’t want to miss a thing! I’ve worked with Janet for the last three years and that’s such a gift. But, getting to photograph these moments and freeze time for her and Brandon is even better!

I’ve known Steven for a long time! We grew up in the same church, went to high school together, and have been friends for a very long time. When he reached out to me asking to capture his and Ally’s big day, it was an easy yes! They had a perfectly small and intimate ceremony with their immediate families, and it was beautiful! When I reflect on their day, I can’t help but think about how easy and stress-free it was because both of them were so “go with the flow” and were so excited about the marriage! It wasn’t about the tiny details (which were beautiful by the way!) or a big reception. It all came back to the marriage! Steven, at one point, said “we’re simple! I’m not ever on social media…I’m just excited to marry her!” Y’all - that’s what it’s about! Congratulations Ally and Steven! It was such an honor to capture these moments for you both and for your families! Να ζήσετε!

From taking their engagement photos, to their wedding, and now their family photos…this just makes me really happy! Alisha and Travis - y’all are in T-R-O-U-B-L-E with Zay!!! Seriously…look at how adorable he is!!! I had more fun in this family session just shouting the ABCs and counting with Zay and he did the best job! Find yourself friends like Lacey and Jacob — the kind who don’t hesitate when you half-jokingly ask them to run interference so no one steals last weekend’s proposal spot for Jake and Amanda. I’m pretty sure I said “so, what if I actually did bring yall as decoys?” And Lacey said, “I wouldn’t say no to that!” Those are the kind of friends everyone deserves. 🤍 They literally took off in different directions keeping two groups of people away seconds before Jake and Amanda got there! 🤣

Their early arrival with me turned into the sweet mini session, and I’m so grateful for them helping keep Jake’s big moment perfect. Love you guys!

Jake has been talking to me about this day for months, and it couldn’t have gone any better last weekend! When we were doing our walkthrough two weeks ago, he couldn’t hide his excitement! We talked about a lot of the logistics, of course! But, I also why he chose this location. In addition to learning that this was where he and Amanda had their first date, he added in “I knew then that I was going to marry her!” ❤️ There were so many people there last weekend that I brought friends with me on Saturday to block others from taking this spot 🤣 Congratulations, and ! Thanks for choosing me to capture this incredible moment for you both and for your families!

Sweet baby Finn 💙 It was such an honor to capture this next chapter for Cary and Mallory! It doesn’t feel like that long ago I did this for their oldest, Hayes, and I swear it was only yesterday that I took photos of their middle son, Rhodes! Watching (and photographing!) their family grow over the years has been the greatest privilege. I met Erica when I first started my teaching career 15 years ago! She and her twin brother Marc were a part of the first group of students I ever got to take to Europe in 2013. Fast forward to now… is getting ready to get married and and got married and had a beautiful baby boy! I don’t think I could have said “yes” faster when Erica asked me to photograph Louka’s baptism! I’ve said it before, but will say it a million more times - being in education comes with so many privileges, but one of the greatest ones is getting to see your “kids” grow up to become who they were meant to be! The end of the school year always feels like sprinting a marathon! Now that there’s a slight bit of downtime before my summer starts, it’s time to get caught up with posting some sessions!

I don’t remember what year it was that I first did family photos for Melissa. But, what I do remember is how young (and short) her boys were at the time! Now…Walker is WAY taller than me and just graduated from Hanover High School and is going into Virginia Tech’s engineering school in the fall🥳🤯 Congratulations, Walker and GO HOKIES!!! 🧡🧡

A brief pause on portraits! When I was asked to take some photos of Freeman’s I jumped at it! Totally different job than what I typically do! These girls had an incredible season and every single one of them is amazingly talented! Three things are easy to see: 1- these girls work HARD 2- they genuinely care about the success of their group and 3- they have FUN! The joy in their faces and the tears in their eyes as they came to the final moments of their last performance said it all! Way to go, girls! And congratulations on a fabulous 2025 season!
