I’m sitting at Pick High School Central waiting to see Chicago - and I see a lot of familiar names in the playbill. I LOVE seeing my clients in their native habitats. Break a leg!
❤️❤️❤️🎭❤️❤️❤️
Karen Haueisen - Seamstress updated their address.
I loved seeing all the homecoming pictures last night! That’s a big part of why I do what I do - all those smiling faces.
I’ll be starting to set appointments on October 20. Looking forward to seeing you here again!
The changing room is all set up for my clients - but you may have to contend with JoJo being all up in your space. He likes the mirrors.
Progress!!! This is probably my favorite part of the sewing room. It’s like my own little store.
This is what moving a sewing business on a rainy day looks like. 🤪
The sewing room is ready to pack up!! At last!
I’ll be temporarily closed - but I’m ready to take in new appointments starting the week of October 3. Best way to reach me will always be a text - 740-243-3503, but if you message me here I’ll try to get back to you ASAP.
See you on the other side!
And since I'm updating you...here's the crew helping me in the sewing room these days...you probably remember Professor Wiggles, but he's SUPER happy to introduce you to his baby brother, JoJo.
Hello, friends! I've missed you! I'm back with a new (old) name and a (VERY SOON) new address. In just a couple of weeks I'll be setting up shop at my new space in Reynoldsburg and ready to help you out with all (most) of your alteration needs. Thank you ALL who have been so patient with me through all of the 2020 and 2021 changes.
As I head into 2022, I'll be bringing back classes and make & take events, and welcoming an intern to my little shop. I have a stop at a BrewDog vendor event planned for November, and lots of other exciting stuff going on.
Thanks for hanging out with me while I took a little hiatus, and I can't wait to see so many of you again!

Hi, friends!!
One of my lovely clients was gifted these beautiful shoes and doesn’t have a need for them. She’d like to give them to a bride or a bridesmaid who can make use of them - any takers??
Size 10 - 4” heel. Awesome condition - free for the taking! Hit me up for details.
Good morning, Facebook!
A quick update on the status of seamstressing - I am OPEN for business, but I'm being very selective in the work I'm taking in right now as I prepare to MOVE into a smaller home.
Fear not, the entire sewing room (and all of your projects) are moving with me, just a few miles away, beginning around August 1. The good news is, the new sewing space is actually bigger! The downside is...I HATE packing. And unpacking. And hanging shelves. And organizing thread into the proper color wheel order. So while I finish up a bunch of work in the next 30 days, please understand as I don't schedule your late August and September projects until I get settled in my new digs.
I don't have a specific move date or a specific address yet, and I'll be contacting some of you individually whose weddings have been pushed back to 2021 and whose dresses I'm holding onto, but I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your patience while I make this transition.
Hello, friends! I'm doing some spring cleaning, and I have inventory from a boutique that I'd like to offer to you!
I have an assortment of each of these Ohio t-shirts in Youth sizes XS, S, M, and L - $20 each. If you're interested, message me here and I'll make sure I have want you want in stock.
Good morning!
I’m doing a little housekeeping and I’ve decided to let someone else love this project. It’s currently listed on the FB marketplace for sale...but if you’d like to claim it just let me know. ❤️
I’m so excited you are starting to find occasions for those prom dresses!! Please bear with me - I shut down the sewing room with the quarantine, and I’m now working on demand as you’re asking for them. I’m also working through some hefty family issues at the house right now...so it may take me a day or two to get back to you. I appreciate your patience and I can’t wait to see all the pictures. 😊
Hi, friends - due to some unforeseen acts of negligence, my phone was run over on Diley Road last week, and I've been limping along with my iPad since then. I'm finally back up and running, but if you've texted in the past week and you DON'T use iMessage, I didn't get your message. Same if you called and left a voice mail. Please hit me up again.
These bridesmaids got together to commission a baby blanket out of their bridesmaid dresses when the happy couple announced they were expecting. And they’re all sorority sisters so that’s the coolest part. 💚Pi Phi
Good morning, friends!!
This is a strange time for us all - and I know it’s uncertain for most of my clients as your events postpone and move around in response to national events. I will try to flex with you as much as possible.
As a temporary measure, I’ll be changing my payment policy to a deposit of of $50 on any formal gown and $100 on any bridal gown. When life gets back to normal, I’ll go back to my payment on pickup policy.
Stay safe in there!! Thanks for understanding.

Hey peeps! I’m fully booked for February! Start hitting me up for March!
Happy day after Christmas!! You may not have even cleaned up all the ribbons yet, but it’s 60 degrees outside and it’s time to start thinking about PROM!!
That’s right! I said it. As you’re pondering what 2020 has in store for you, consider the reality that PROM SEASON starts any old time you’re ready. This year, the powers that be at Pick North and Central have seen fit to schedule proms back to back, which always packs things pretty tight in here. And did you know that April and May are HUGE months for weddings? Not only does that bring in the heavy duty tulle, but entire wedding parties, moms of brides and moms of grooms, flower girls and the occasional last minute tux emergency. Plus this May, my twins turn 21, and although they live in Pittsburgh and Fayetteville, Arkansas, this *way too young to have twin 21 year olds* seamstress may have to sneak off for a few days to ring in that big event.
So folks, have mercy on your friendly neighborhood seamstress and don’t wait until the last minute to find that gown of a lifetime. There’s a lot happening in here this spring, so the closer it gets to the big day, the higher the risk I may have to say I can’t help you. And that will make us both very, very sad.
So help keep us both happy. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday, and I’ll see you next year!!!
Hey friends - Mindy Muck occasionally shares here on my page. Her friends are concerned about her; if this reaches anyone who has has any contact with her, please chime in.
Oh this old thing? Well I just wear this when I don’t care how I look.
It’s a work in progress. So far I can say two things. First, I way underestimated my ability to consume 9’ strands of garland. Second, I have no intention of giving up my day job to pursue a career in chicken wire sculpting.
Stay tuned.
When I was in high school I though it would be cool to fly jets for the Air Force and let them put me through law school. Instead I put myself through law school and I sew patches on Air Force uniforms. Close enough.
It’d still be cool to fly a jet though. ✈️
Standing here in the kitchen with my #1 kid doing the Thanksgiving snack prep and I see my page has hit 599 likes. I asked her if she liked my page and I laughed because you know...I’m like...ONE off SIX HUNDRED LIKES. So she looked. She hadn’t. Then she did.
And now I’ve got 600 likes. That’s what hanging out in a kitchen full of Chex mix will do for you during the holidays. Feeling lots of love here.
Hey FB fans...here’s a completely unpaid endorsement (maybe I should think twice about that kind of stuff before I post...?):
I see a LOT of garments come through here. It’s not uncommon to get one with a lipstick or grease mark, a spill of wine, or a spot of blood from where your friendly neighborhood seamstress might have stabbed herself trying to pull out a tiny stitch. I’ve used a lot of remedies over the years, my usual favorite being plain old white vinegar. But I had been meaning to try this guy out for a long time, and I finally got around to it.
Good heavens, drop everything you’re doing right now and go get some. It took out a grease stain that had been washed and dried several times over in the hub’s t-shirt, a mystery spot (was that salsa?) in one of my white sweaters, black track marks on my white comforter from where I slung it over the shower stall to air dry (what - like you clean the top of your shower stall??), and of course, several spots off of my most recent bridal gown where I lost the battle with my seam ripper. Badly.
It’s amazing. It’s $3.99. And you have a 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby if you just navigate to their website.
There you go. Infomercial over.
Well now I’ve seen it all. I can buy a 3D printer at Joann Fabrics. Now...what could I need that for in my sewing room...?
Happy Halloween!!! Stay dry out there!! Or if you can’t stay dry, find one of those nifty dry cleaning bags for your dress before you pop over to see me. 🎃👻
To the wedding gown designer who thought it was necessary to bury 16 pieces of boning between 3 layers of lining, please, allow me to set your mind at ease. It wasn’t.

I’ve been trying to sort out some fall and winter workshops (stay tuned - they’re coming, I promise!!), and I just spotted these on Pinterest. Obviously, I need to decorate the classroom with one (or several) of these, and I’m now unreasonably excited to invite you all over!!
