A look back on the 5th Annual Cooking for the Kids Chef Competition at 1705 East Events! 👨‍🍳 Chef Kyle Teears from Craften Neighborhood Food & Drink won after three extensive rounds of cooking. 🏆

Cooking for the Kids raised over $115,000 for Overflowing Hands, a local volunteer-led organization serving the most vulnerable children in our neighborhoods by providing food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare.

Now that deserves a round of applause! 👏

Round 2 for Cooking for the Kids will be taking place this Wednesday and Thursday at 1705 East Events!🧑‍🍳

We started with 8 of the Triangle's premier chefs and are down to 4! Our guests and culinary chefs will decide who moves on to the final round and take home the $10,000 grand prize. All proceeds will benefit Overflowing Hands, a local non-profit that provides food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare to children in need.

Our guests and culinary judges will decide who advances to the next round and the winning chef takes home the $10,000 grand prize! Did you know?

Cooking for the Kids competing chefs arrive at 1705 East Events in Raleigh at 9:00 a.m. the day of their competition. They learn the secret ingredients upon arrival and must have menus written by 10:00 a.m. Chef teams are required to surrender all electronic including cell phones, tablets and laptops to the chef refs until the end of the competition to maintain the integrity of the competition.

Each chef prepares an appetizer, main course and a dessert for approximately 160 guests, judges and sponsors. Guests and culinary judges vote on each course to decide which chef that evening advances to the next round.
