Offline Media Lands $700K For Curating, Advertising Local Experiences (in NC & Beyond)

The involvement week !

Innovate Raleigh events livened up Raleigh entrepreneur community and this week as it was marked by two major events which the ThinkHouse fellows participated in:

1. Innovatours: for this year session of the Innovatours, ThinkHous fellows are located upstairs at HQ Raleigh 310 S. Harrington St and are always happy to talk about their company and present ideas to all visitors !

2. Innovate Raleigh Summit: for this big conference that draws speakers in from across the country, the fellows volunteered to help Innovate Raleigh staff with logistics during the conference and got opportunity to meet a lot of entrepreneurs with different background and experiences.

9/11 Day of Service: Becky volunteered with Activate Good in some various projects around the Triangle for Patriot's Day. At 8AM Becky was present with her shoes in the moist ground, helping the non-profit community SEEDS to grow a garden in Durham.

Ivonna Dumanyan received a great honor as her company Biometrix has been selected with 49 others to pitch for Kairos 50. Kairos is a global community of young entrepreneurs and innovators . In April 2016 Ivonna will have the opportunity to present her sensors in front of big companies like Nike, IBM, ect... at the the Milken Global Conference in Los Angeles.

Thank you to all the Thinkhouse team and fellows for this amazing retreat ! Want to know more about it ? Here is a quick sum up :

Day 1 : We just arrived at the Haw River State Park Summit, and Think House Raleigh, Greensboro, and Elon are meeting each other around cups of coffee, fruits and snacks. Christopher Gergen gave the fellows a warm welcome and clearly defined the outcomes of the Think House program. He wanted to bring all of these young entrepreneurs near Haw River (1h 30min driving away from Raleigh) to take a break from a day to day routine before diving into the program in full motivation! A good entrepreneur knows him/herself, recognize opportunities and translate them into reality : this retreat is all about understanding this, getting to know yourself and your fellow team. With this purpose in mind, the first day was cadenced by teambuilding and personal-oriented activities. Each fellow had to determine what their story, their core values, their strengths and weakness, their expectations and their passion to build a company that fits them are. What relaxes the mind better than chilling on a lake dock after dining with your friends?

Day 2: The fellows being more aware of their capacities and their peers' capacities, it is now the time to know more about the team and show them all of the opportunities the ThinkHouse staff can bring to them. Two of the four co-founders of the ThinkHouse, Chistopher Gergen and Jason Widen, as well as Liz Tracy who has helped with programming since the beginning, gave a fascinating overview of their careers so far. Christie Quackenbush, aka the ThinkHouse mom, then introduced her professional path in her bubbly way. Clémence Leberche the new Coordinator of Communications for the ThinkHouse program followed, explaining why she came all the way from France to work with these American social entrepreneurs. Greg Hopper, HQ Raleigh's new Strategist in Residence, finished the presentation explaining how his experience as a Strategist lead him to help educate and guide this new generation of entrepreneurs. What's more efficient for intra-peer connection than playing ultimate Frisbee, ThinkHouse fellows and staff mixed up in two fierce squads? Let's enjoy this Saturday North Carolinian smooth weather networking on the battlefield !

The Think House 2015 Retreat is about to begin ! This is the launch of the Think House program for 2015-2016 around 2 days of activities planned to provide the fellows with a great foundation for personal and business success.

From Friday, August 28th to Saturday, August 29th, Think House Raleigh, Greensboro, and Elon will be visiting Haw River State Park in North Carolina. They will take part in many activities to get to know each other including group discussions, hiking, swimming, canoeing, and frisbee golf!

PS: Don't forget to bring energy and good mood!
