The Jamwich Issue 74, June 2018
Our friend and fellow festival organizer Max Stone of Yonderville Music & Arts Festival 2018 is putting together an event full of community and love this July 5-8, 2018. The Jamwich interviewed him about the hard work and passion it takes to make such a festival happen.
Written by Elise Olmstead It’s always so refreshing to see a new small festival pop up – and the positive vision of Yonderville’s organizer Max Stone makes it even more exciting. Coming at a time when the festival calendar is starting to slim down, it is an interesting time to introduce a new ...

There’s no Mad Tea Party, but there is this! Three wonderful nights at ACE Adventure Resort of Adventure Grass Music Festival!
Our friend S Troy Pemberton of G. Dads online booth has put this very special pin into production today - the Unstoppable Taco! He had these words to say:
"So in the wake of finding out something magical was done for me and my family, I feel compelled to tell you guys about something that went into production today!
This pin is called "the Unstoppable Taco"
If you know Taco this pin needs no explanation if you don't know Taco let me tell you a quick story about who he is.
This is a guy that in the middle of a festival shortly after a hail storm while people's art and rented tents were literally being destroyed. I saw him in the trenches carrying, pulling, lifting, praying, and crying tears of joy that no one was hurt. And in the middle of that...he came over and asked how my foot was, because he knew that my foot was hurting when I had arrived. Totally unrelated to the storm, and absolutely irrelevant to the situation. But he remembered something that simple at a time where moments earlier people were questioning whether or not they were going to live or die... sounds ridiculously dramatic but it's true..
Anyway.. they've been through some stuff the past couple years that would have beaten down most people, and they've been beaten up more than one time.. relentlessly, but they keep going and they keep showing nothing but positivity. (even though I know it's wearing thin)..
But they keep showing love and continuing to remain active even though there's a lot of personal things going on that we don't even know about... remember everybody has a story.
So, with that I introduced a shiny sparkly Taco that runs off music love and peace! Spiraling always upward!! (proceeds from this pin will go directly to Taco and Elise to help with their personal expenses and help them recover some of their losses.)..
The only difference that pjctured is it will be an le200 and rubber backs.
Watch for updates soon"
An update on refunds - in order to stay completely transparent and quell anyone's worries (please read all the way through):
Friday I was able to process many refunds until our bank's fraud detection kicked in because of the high amounts of money being charged to our card - which resulted in a block on that card. When I managed to take the block off via my bank's customer service and it still wasn't processing any more refunds, a call to Eventbrite told us that it would take 24 hours for the block to be lifted.
Saturday I began refunding people again as soon as the 24 hour mark hit. After quite a few refunds, a block was once again put on my card and the banks were closed and unavailable to help me.
Today (Monday) I once again began refunding people and thought the problem was resolved, until my card was blocked once again. After a call to the bank, it came to light that there is a spending limit on that card/account that I have to request to be raised/lifted in person at my local branch. Once again, though, I have to wait 24 hours for the block to be lifted.
Tomorrow I will be going to the bank to request the spending limit be raised so that I can take care of this once and for all. All that we want to do is getting everyone refunded and taken care of, so this has been stressful to say the least.
Because our refund policy before cancellation was "no refunds," some people are having trouble requesting one. In that case, just send a message to the Mad Tea Party Jam page, or Elise, and I will look up your ticket manually and refund you that way.
Remember that it is a real person (ME) clicking that refund button and processing your order, just like when you bought the ticket. The process is not automated and can be slow. Some people have been adding very sweet notes of love and condolences with their refund request - thank you. Many of them brought tears to my eyes.
Some people have told us personally that they will not be requesting a refund - this is not at all necessary but so very kind and appreciated. Because we already paid for many services, deposits, etc, before the venue broke contract and we were forced to cancel- we are paying thousands of dollars out of pocket to get everyone refunded. We understand this is necessary to make things right and comes as a risk of the job.
Thank you again for your kindness and patience. We love you.
For anyone currently waiting for a refund approval - the first round of refunds have been processed successfully, but we are currently having technical difficulties that Eventbrite is telling us will take 24 hours to resolve. Rest assured that we have the funds and are working diligently to refund your money. Thank you everyone who has been so kind and patient throughout this process.
With both great sadness and great anticipation, we are announcing a full cancellation of The Mad Tea Party Jam. We cannot express to you enough how much we have appreciated your patience, support, thoughtful words and unabashed willingness to make an ordinary couple, feel so abundantly cared for. We thank you.
After spending the last two weeks exploring options, seeking advice and navigating possibilities, we simply could not find an alternative that would deliver the value expected of our festival. While we do have some plans for June 14-17, we do not want to delay people lives and plans any longer. We will be having some gatherings that weekend, but until we are granted the proper permits, we can neither announce nor do we feel it is right, to continue holding your tickets.
Our friends and family LITZ will be taking over these dates in 2019 with their very own festival The LITZ Get Down which we will be working closely together on. There will be no stopping us from spreading the LOVE we have with our family nor do we plan on simply moving on from this community we have become a part of. Our family will live on, we will simply be carrying on in a different format.
We love you all so very deeply and there are not enough words to express the impact you have made on Elise and I. There are so many great memories and too much LOVE we have shared together as a community to not remember...
“You know it's the dream of a memory of a life, I know we used to lead.
You know it's the songs we sing and the love you bring are gonna set me free.”
~ Carry Me Back Home ~ The Werks
You can request a refund through Eventbrite and we will approve your request. Funds are usually back into your bank account within 24 hours. We will probably be dealing with a lot of refund requests, so we thank you for your patience as we approve them all. If you have any trouble just send us a message and we'll be glad to help.

G. Dads online booth will also be creating a limited edition pin to commemorate the closing of this chapter and help raise funds. We will keep you updated on its production and availability to order.
It is with an extremely heavy heart that we announce to you that The Mad Tea Party Jam, in its current form, must be cancelled due to the venue pulling out of its contractual obligations for the event. We lacked any and all foresight of this even being a possibility.
For seven years now, Elise and I have sought to create an event with the only intention of spreading the value of art, music, culture and the LOVE created as a byproduct of those endeavors. We had never planned on having an event of this magnitude to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but it did become a reality that we have worked tirelessly towards each year for the benefit of each of you.
With that said, we are currently exploring all viable options to move the event to a venue that will match both ours and your expectations of quality for this event. These options will not create a clear path to move forward until April 27th at the earliest. When we do have a clear path to move forward you will be given the option for a refund of your ticket or you can choose to continue supporting us. This will be the final Mad Tea Party Jam moving forward as we no longer have enough fight left in us to continue this event. This was by no means an easy decision to make nor do we take this decision and how it affects you, our fans, lightly.
We certainly hope that at least one of our options available will inevitably present itself as an opportunity to continue this year. However, for the sake of transparency in lieu of the support you have given us all these years, we felt it would be improper to not inform you of the current state of affairs. Your support has been a light for us to follow throughout the many years of putting together a truly grassroots festival with the intention of cultivating a community built on a foundation of the power of love. We cannot thank you all enough for your unwavering support. Know that the love you have shown us we have tried to reflect back upon this community as often as possible and we know that effort has been both appreciated and reciprocated. Please stay tuned for future announcements in the coming days and we thank you endlessly for the unconditional love you have shown us throughout this journey.
Taco and Elise

The Mad Tea Party Jam was born out of a wedding anniversary and kept alive by a family of like-minded souls. When we are all together on that fateful summer solstice weekend, with the gorgeous moon watching over us, our vibrations sync into a single electric heartbeat. The most captivating aspect of all of it, is that it happened organically and without warning. The event was never a career goal of ours, but yet, it became an iconic part of our life. Born out of these sacred interactions was a motto coined by my incredible husband, Taco -- "Love is an action word. Let's Get Busy."
The imperfect creatures that we are, we may not always act out of love. But rest assured that the job is never done, and there's always time to dust yourself off and get back in the game. Start where you are and get to work. LOVE IS AN ACTION WORD. And it's time for you to shine.
Please join us for another interaction, we enjoy it immensely: www.themadteapartyjam.com
