📣🎙️ Keynote announcement! Please welcome this year’s Keynote presenter, Torey Lee Brooks AKA 👏 We are thankful to have such amazing, inspiring and intellectual backcountry athletes and environmental activists here in New England, and Torey is both of those things and more.
Presentation Title: “The Facets That Move Us: Adventure, Purpose & the Uphill Mindset”
Torey invites us into an honest, lighthearted look at the many facets of skiing and life. Through stories about big backcountry goals and climate advocacy, we’ll explore how adventure, purpose, and community inspire us and also keep us humble. Think of it as fuel for the next uphill slog, whether on the skin track or in your day-to-day. Just remember, the turns will always make it worth it!
Bio:
Torey Lee Brooks is a backcountry skier, rock climber, and mountain athlete based in New Hampshire. She specializes in skiing steep, technical lines while not taking herself too seriously. Torey thrives on finding big adventure in her backyard and sharing her deep knowledge and passion for sustainability through her endeavors. Torey is a POW athlete and has been featured in films such as Purple Mountains, as well as in her own movie, 300 Miles Melting, which tracks her 300+ mile backcountry ski along the Catamount Trail in Vermont. When Torey is stationary, she works as an engineer and professor in green buildings and infrastructure (she’s kind of a nerd - her words, not ours’!)
Only a small handful of Early Bird II tickets remain, so be sure to grab yours’ ASAP at the link in if you want to hear Torey’s awesome presentation and see some amazing (not-yet-announced) films premiere! Fun fact - over half of this event’s registrants so far are women, a testament to the awesome existing and aspiring she-redders in our area and their level of interest in backcountry skiing, snowboarding and community. We are so pumped to get everyone together on December 14th ☃️❄️⛷️🏂
