We thought we were bringing kids a fun literacy adventure… 🍪📚
But today, we opened a package that reminded us it became so much more than that ❤️
Handmade cards.�Sweet thank you notes.�Drawings of Gingerbread Joe.
One class even glued their gingerbread men to the paper so they “couldn’t run away” 😂🍪
And honestly?�That absolutely melted us.
Sometimes you don’t realize how much kids connected with an experience until you see it through THEIR eyes ✨
The laughter.�The excitement.�The memories they carried home afterward.
That’s why we do this ❤️
Thank you to the amazing students and teachers at Community Action Head Start in Three Rivers for making our day with your kindness 🫶🍪 📚

Not gonna lie… the kids took this VERY seriously 🍪❤️😂

And honestly?
That’s exactly why interactive literacy experiences work so well 📚✨

The kids weren’t just decorating a gingerbread man…

They were becoming PART of the story.

The excitement.
The creativity.
The tiny frosting-covered fingers 😂
The anticipation of what Gingerbread Joe would do next 👀🏃‍♂️

That’s the kind of learning kids actually remember ❤️

Because when reading feels hands-on, exciting, and a little chaotic…

The kids helped make Gingerbread Joe…
mixed him, baked him, decorated him…

…and then he ESCAPED 😂🏃‍♂️

So naturally, the class had ONE mission:
catch the runaway gingerbread man before he disappeared for good 👀

This is what happens when reading becomes an EXPERIENCE instead of just a lesson ❤️📚
