❤️ A New Chapter for La Diva by Chef Jenn ❤️

After a lot of thought, prayer, conversations with my family, and reflection on the past several years, I have some bittersweet news to share.

La Diva by Chef Jenn will be closing its doors in January as I prepare to relocate out of state.

This decision was not an easy one. La Diva has become so much more than a business to me. It has been a dream, a creative outlet, a career, and most importantly, a way for me to connect with so many incredible people in our community.

I am incredibly grateful for every person who has trusted me to cater your weddings, celebrations, family gatherings, corporate events, holidays, and all of life’s special moments. Every order, every referral, every review, every “Chef Jenn, this was amazing!” and every person who believed in me helped make La Diva what it became. ❤️

But sometimes life calls us in a new direction.

I have made the decision to relocate out of state so that I can travel and spend more time with my family while also returning to college and pursuing a new educational chapter. This is something I have wanted to do for a long time, and I feel that now is the right time to take that leap.

I don’t know exactly what the future will look like for La Diva, but I do know that the skills, friendships, memories, and love that this business has given me will always be a part of who I am.

And who knows… this may not be goodbye forever. 😉❤️

Until then, I want to make these final months count. If you’ve been thinking about booking La Diva, placing an order, or having me cater one more special event for you, now is the time!

Just a little education to explain what catering is and catering pricing. I get so many low ball and counter offers on pricing. It is insane! Please remember that running any food service business is very high overhead! Would you go into Publix and tell them you are only willing to pay $15 for a $40 platter? No, because they would just laugh at you!

What is catering?

Catering is the professional preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages for an event or gathering. Depending on the caterer and package, catering may include menu planning, food preparation, delivery, setup, buffet or plated service, serving staff, rentals, cleanup, and beverage service.

The price varies significantly based on the type of food, service level, guest count, location, staffing, rentals, and whether beverages are included.

Average catering cost in Florida — 2026

For Florida, a reasonable current range is:

Catering style Typical price per person:
Drop-off / casual catering $20–$40
Basic buffet $35–$65
Staffed/premium buffet $60–$100+
Food stations / family style $75–$140+
Plated dinner $100–$200+
Full-service luxury catering $125–$200+

Florida wedding catering sources currently put buffet service around $35–$130/person depending on the level of food and service, while plated and full-service options can reach $125–$200+ per person.

And importantly, the advertised food price isn’t always the final price. Staffing, rentals, setup/breakdown, service charges, gratuity, taxes, and bartending can substantially increase the final bill.

For La Diva by Chef Jenn

Based on the type of full-service catering you offer, I would not compare your pricing to $20–$40 drop-off catering. You’re selling an experience and service, not simply food.

A strong way to explain it to clients would be:

“Catering is more than just the food. It is the planning, preparation, presentation, service, and ex*****on that allows you and your guests to enjoy the event without worrying about what happens behind the scenes.”

For a Florida full-service caterer, $65–$150+ per person is a very defensible general market range, with weddings and highly customized events often going considerably higher.
