One of the things I love most about events is watching new connections happen.

But those moments don't always happen naturally.

Sometimes all it takes is a small nudge, a thoughtful introduction, or a little extra space in the agenda for people to start talking.

Here are 3 simple ways to make it easier for guests to connect at your next event.

✨ Because when people connect, that's often where the real value of an event begins.

It's easy to look at a packed room and assume an event was a success.

And sometimes that's the case. But attendance is only part of the story.

The real question to ask is: What happened because of the event?

Did people stay and connect?
Did conversations happen?
Did new relationships form?
Did people follow up afterward?
Did you achieve the goal you set out to accomplish?

The most successful events aren't always the biggest ones. They're the ones that create meaningful results.

✨ Check out this week's Small Business Tip of the Week for the 5 signs I look for when evaluating whether an event was truly successful.

Still smiling about Greet the Summer Fest ☀️

It's taken me a little over a week to post about this one. Not because I wasn't excited about it, but because sometimes after months of planning and a whirlwind of events, it takes a little time to fully appreciate what was accomplished.

When Luci and I first started talking about this event for , her goal was simple: create a fun way to bring the community together to support a local cause, while also helping local businesses connect with residents in a meaningful way.

Seeing nearly 300 people come out to enjoy live music, activities, great food, local businesses, and each other made all of the planning worth it.

One of my favorite parts of the day was watching people wander from station to station, stopping to chat with sponsors, reconnecting with neighbors, and making new connections along the way. It felt exactly like what a community event should feel like.

A huge thank you to Luci at for putting her faith in me to help bring her vision to life, as well as our amazing sponsors, vendors, entertainers, volunteers, and everyone who attended. Events like this truly take a village.

As an event planner, there's nothing better than seeing months of planning turn into a few hours of genuine connection, laughter, and community. ☀️

There are a ton of ways to market your business.

But honestly? Few things build trust as quickly as getting face-to-face with people.

Whether it's a customer appreciation event, a workshop, a networking mixer, a prospect dinner, or a community event, people get the chance to experience your business - not just hear about it.

They get to meet the people behind the brand.. ask questions... have conversations... and start building a relationship.

That's why I love events so much.

Trust isn't built through a logo, an ad, or a social media post alone. It's built through interactions, experiences, and genuine connections.

Events are one of the fastest ways to build trust - if they're designed with that goal in mind.

The businesses that do events well aren't just hosting gatherings. They're creating opportunities for people to get to know, like, and trust them.

✨ So whether you're attending events, sponsoring them, or hosting your own, make sure you're getting out there and creating opportunities to build trust - for both you and your business.

Had a great time at the Plymouth Area Chamber's Ladies PAR-TEE on Friday! ⛳️

The humidity was no joke 😅, but neither were the laughs, conversations, and connections made throughout the day.

Thank you to the Plymouth Area Chamber for putting together another great event and to all the women who came out to play, connect, and support one another.

Already looking forward to next year! ☀️🏌🏼‍♀️

I'm heading to the Plymouth Area Chamber's Ladies PAR-TEE this afternoon, and it reminded me of something...

Some of the best business conversations happen when people don't feel like they're at a business event.

⛳ That's why golf events work so well.

Watch this week's tip for a few ideas you may want to steal for your own clients, prospects, or team.

Last week’s customer dinner in the Back Bay was a reminder that the smallest details are often the ones guests remember most.

Yes, great food and drinks matter. But what elevates an experience from good to great are the thoughtful touches that make people feel comfortable, welcomed, and genuinely excited to be there.

✨ A private dining space filled with natural light and floor-to-ceiling windows.
✨ Branded menus waiting at each place setting.
✨ A signature cocktail that sparks conversation before guests even sit down.
✨ Thoughtfully curated seating.
✨ A few suggested discussion prompts woven into the experience to help break the ice and keep conversations flowing naturally.

None of these elements are particularly complicated on their own.

But together, they create an environment where guests can focus less on navigating the event and more on connecting with each other.

The most successful events aren’t always the ones with the biggest budgets or the most elaborate production.

They’re the ones where every detail feels intentional and every guest feels considered.

That’s where the magic happens.

Whether you’re hosting 20 guests or 200, thoughtful event design creates meaningful connections. If you’re ready to turn a gathering into an experience your guests will actually remember, I’d love to help make it happen. ✨

Have you ever walked into an event and immediately started calculating how soon you could leave? 😅

Most of the time, it has nothing to do with the people and everything to do with the experience.

When events feel too rigid, too formal, or too packed with programming, people tend to disengage.

But when they feel relaxed, welcoming, and easy to participate in, people stay longer, connect more, and get more value from being there.

✨ As you're planning your next event, ask yourself:

Would I actually want to attend this?

If the answer isn't an immediate yes, it may be time to rethink the experience.

You can usually tell within a few minutes what kind of event you’ve walked into.

Is this something I can actually relax at…
or is this just another thing I need to get through?

And that feeling doesn’t happen by accident. It’s created by how the event is designed.

For clients & prospects, that might look like:
✨ A more relaxed setting instead of a formal presentation
✨ Time to actually talk, not just sit and listen
✨ Something that feels easy to show up to, not something they had to squeeze in

For your team, it’s the same idea:
✨ Getting out of the office
✨ Doing something that feels different from the day-to-day
✨ Having space to connect without every minute scheduled

Because when something feels like an obligation… people will treat it like one.

They check the box.
They stay for a bit.
Then they’re out.

But when it feels like a break?

People linger.
They engage.
They actually enjoy being there.

And that’s where the real value of your event comes from.

So as you’re planning your next event, ask yourself:

Is this something people are going to look forward to… or just show up for?

✨ And if you want help designing an event your attendees actually want to stay at, I’d love to help.
