Stress-free planning sounds cute until you realize wedding stress is not just “I have a lot to do.”

It’s your inbox turning into a vendor group project.
It’s realizing your rental order doesn’t include enough chairs.
It’s wondering who is setting out the candles, cueing the DJ, moving the ceremony florals, checking the bathroom basket, telling Uncle Mark where table six is, and making sure the late shuttle does not ruin the timeline.

That is where I come in.

At I Do Collective, stress-free planning is not just a pretty phrase I slapped on a graphic because it sounds nice. It’s an actual process.

I build realistic timelines, not fantasy timelines where hair and makeup magically takes 12 minutes.

I organize vendor communication so everyone knows where to be, when to arrive, what they’re bringing, and who to call that is not you.

I review layouts, rentals, floor plans, seating, setup details, decor lists, signage, and all the “wait, did anyone think about this?” pieces before they become day-of problems.

I create backup plans for weather, timing issues, missing items, late deliveries, family chaos, and the general nonsense that likes to appear the week of an event.

I keep the design details cohesive so your wedding does not accidentally become five different Pinterest boards fighting for control.

I run the timeline, manage the setup, solve the tiny fires quietly, and make sure you are not being asked logistical questions while you are trying to enjoy the event you spent months planning.

Basically, you get to be the bride, groom, host, guest of honor, or person actually enjoying the party.

I’ll be the one with the timeline, the vendor texts, the emergency kit, and the deeply unnecessary but very useful level of concern over napkin placement.

This might be my favorite part of what I do.

There’s something SO satisfying about starting with a mood board, a color palette and a slightly vague sentence like,

“I want it to feel romantic and intimate and kind of like we just stumbled into a secret garden…”
…and then watching it become real.

These are some of my favorite examples of exactly that.
The vision vs. what we actually created.

And event design is so much more than finding pretty inspiration.
I’m looking at the mood board and figuring out what it is that makes you love it.

Is it the colors?
The softness?
The abundance of flowers?
The way the couple is interacting with the space?
The romantic, slightly undone feeling?
The drama?
The intimacy?

Then I start pulling those pieces apart and rebuilding them into something that works for your event.

The location.
The florals.
The styling.
The rentals.
The textures.
The little details.
The way everything is positioned.
The way the whole thing photographs.

Because I don’t want to just make something pretty.
I want to take the feeling we talked about months ago and somehow make you able to stand inside of it.

And THAT is why I love event design so much.
Going from “okay, this is the vibe…”
to
“holy s**t, we actually made this.”

Never gets old. 🤍

The proposal should not end the second she says yes.
That’s the part people forget.

You’ve spent weeks planning the perfect moment, found the ring, chosen the location, maybe hired a photographer, somehow kept the whole thing a secret…

and then she says yes and it’s like:
“Okay!!! Amazing!!! So… what do we do now?” 😂

This is where I think proposals can become SO much more special.
Instead of planning one moment, plan the whole experience.

The proposal.
A few minutes to actually take it all in.
Photos together while you’re both still riding the “holy s**t we’re engaged” high.
Ch*****ne waiting nearby.

Then maybe it’s a private boat at sunset.
A beautifully set picnic.
Dinner somewhere incredible.
A hotel room filled with flowers.
Or walking into a surprise celebration with the people you love most.

Because the best proposals don’t just give you a beautiful photo of someone down on one knee.
They give you a whole story.

And when I plan proposals, that’s what I’m thinking about.
Not just: where are you asking?

But:
What happens immediately afterward?
Where does the photographer go?
Where are the flowers going next?
Do we have ch*****ne waiting?
Are you changing locations?
Does she think you’re going to dinner?
Are your families hiding somewhere?
How do we make the entire thing flow without her realizing any of it was planned?

That’s the fun part.

You bring the ring and the person you want to marry.

A no-brainer for your proposal?
Live strings.

Actually, a no-brainer for proposals, weddings, cocktail hours, private dinners, engagement parties, and basically any event where you want people to walk in and immediately feel like something special is happening.

My personal fave: Radiant Strings.

Because music changes the whole mood. A picnic setup is cute. A picnic setup with live strings playing in the background? Suddenly we are in a romance movie and everyone needs to act accordingly.

For this Pittsburgh Botanic Garden proposal, Radiant Strings brought that soft, romantic, “please don’t talk to me, I’m having a moment” energy that made the entire setup feel elevated without being over the top.

And that’s what I love about live music. It doesn’t have to be dramatic or fussy. It just makes everything feel more intentional.

Your guests may not remember every napkin fold. Rude, but true.
They will remember how the moment felt.

Because somewhere along the way, we collectively decided that when your best friend gets engaged, you should automatically become an unpaid:
