I’ve been trying to retire as a DJ. Yet things still keep popping up and I feel excited to do them. I’m really happy just working from home right now and taking care of my life. I’m not pursuing any regular gigs.
I’ll get a call occasionally for a party or an occasional karaoke show to cover. So I guess calling myself retired is not really the correct word. I don’t know if I could ever walk away from this world. Something keeps drawing me back in.
It really is hard work when you get down to it. Everything from making sure all the details are correct, carrying it all in and setting it up. (It’s not light.) The amount of energy you have to give to do a great job is amazing! I’m pushing myself at 50. The late nights on a regular basis is way too much for me.  I like this occasional thing…I love and appreciate all of you out there who have supported me for so many years.  So I guess not retired, just slowin’ down…Lol!

KJs/DJs… what would you do??

I had a singer sign up, it was his birthday. He was nice, except he decided to do his comedy act ( claims he does stand up) then sing. I don’t mind people telling jokes, I think it’s a great way to break things up sometimes. But…
The jokes were only told to me and consisted of a lot of insults, towards me! “ in a nice comedic way” . DJ Jokes. One Liners.
I have a good sense of humor and usually let weird stuff slide, but this was not cool! I gave a fun jab back at him when he told a joke over the mic. He is lucky I’m professional! 🤦‍♀️ 😡
