Announcing Brenda Tate as the second Spirit of the 19th Amendment Honoree. Brenda will be recognized by the Pennsylvania Women's Hall of Achievement at the 10th Annual Spirit of the 19th Amendment Luncheon on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 11:30 am to 2 pm at the LeMont Restaurant. Brenda is a retired Pittsburgh Police Officer who served forty years as a police officer. Her book, Journal of A Black Woman in Blue, is one of a woman raised in an abusive and challenging atmosphere who would overcome the pains of abuse, loss of innocence, and addiction to build a career to protect presidents, kings, queens, and dignitaries, such as Rosa Parks and the Dalai Lama.

1. A woman who is currently or has in the past resided in Pennsylvania. She may have been born in PA or had a residency period there.
2. The nominee is an outstanding woman in her profession and/or volunteer service who has made a significant impact in her region, state, and/or nation.
3. The nominee works to improve women’s status in her region and state.
4. The nominee advocates for women and their economic, political and general welfare rights.
