Business Principle time: sole proprietor vs LLC, the real difference.

With a sole proprietor, you and the business are legally the same. If the business gets sued or can't pay a debt, that responsibility lands on you personally.

An LLC creates a separate legal entity, so in most cases the business is on the hook, not your personal bank account. That is why a lot of us move toward an LLC once there's real risk involved.

Here's the deep dive part I want you to actually know: that protection is not automatic. It can fall apart if you mix personal and business money, skip the LLC paperwork requirements, or personally sign a guarantee on a loan or lease.

Want to look into it yourself? The IRS has free info on EINs and business structures at irs.gov, and Pennsylvania's own business site at business.pa.gov walks you through registering an LLC step by step. Hey crafty fam, we didn’t want to leave you wondering what’s going on. If you don’t know our studio flooded. We spent three days cleaning and throwing away damaged supplies and guess what.

It happened again. It is in our best interest to “ease on down the road” so we are moving to a storage unit and getting out by the end of the month.

We have quite a bit of items for sale:
Multiple shelves
cabinets
a stainless steel table
Plastics shoeboxes galore
12 x 12 paper storage
and more.

If you might want something I’ll be at the studio all day Saturday after 10:30am if you want to stop by. (Oh and there is a book bag giveaway that day starting at noon so bring the kids to help you and they can grab some pizza and giveaways)

Hey friends, a thing happened. I came to work on a project and got a huge surprise. I wasn’t expecting this but it’s gonna take some time to get things back in order. At least 3 other small businesses were impacted, possibly more.

Goal is to get it as dry as possible as quickly as possible to hopefully prevent mold.

I’ll try to keep y’all updated.

I started soap making over 15 years ago, and honestly, I still love it just as much today.

It’s relaxing. Creative. Therapeutic even.

After I took my first class, I started experimenting with different soap bases, colors, scents, and ingredients to figure out what I really loved. Charcoal and turmeric became favorites. I love making layered peppermint soaps. I’ve added loofahs, botanicals, and all kinds of fun touches over the years.

None of that would’ve happened if I hadn’t just taken the first class.

That’s why I’m encouraging you to come learn with us on June 6th at 10 a.m. at the Handmade U Studio. Mar Na from  is going to walk you through everything you need to know to get started.
