My show at Dilworth Park just canceled due to rain. I was all dressed and ready to go and everything. I hope everyone who was planning on seeing it checks this page in the next hour.

Great gig with a great crew of talented performers. It was an honor and a pleasure to ring in the new year with you all.

A few weeks ago I was performing at a festival and after my first show the guy working the food truck next to me yelled, “hey, you should see my tattoo.” I was very surprised to see that he was correct.

So there I am, juggling for a line of people waiting to vote, and a bunch of black SUVs pull up. A guy gets out and steals my crowd. Just no respect for the juggling. He starts rapping with the marching band that was performing with me. The nerve of some multi Grammy award winning artists. How Common.

Regis Philbin passed away at age 88 yesterday. He was the host of "America's Got Talent" the year I was on. He was the best part of doing that show. After we taped my first episode he went on "Last Call with Carson Daly" and brought a clip of my performance which caused several friends to call me in the middle of the night.

Thanks for believing in me Regis.

Would anyone be interested if I did a directors cut of my show? I'm thinking of a voice-over commentary on what goes through my head as I'm doing the show or explaining some of the backstory behind each act. I'd probably post them here one act at a time over a few weeks.

Many touring shows will have some cast or crew member paint some version of the show’s poster on the walls backstage and then everyone will sign it. This is the first theater I’ve ever seen that has a tradition of doing your show in the style of a different show’s poster. If you are a lover of broadway see if you can spot some of these iconic images borrowed by different shows. @ DPAC

Did a big show last night with great people. Mark Nizer, Lynn Trefzger and Jason Hudy are all top notch professionals and I was honored to share a stage with them.

They had fun chairs at my gig at the mall today.

I have an ongoing gig at the Philadelphia Zoo through January 5 that I’m really enjoying. It mostly involves spinning an LED staff or swinging LED poi but last night they needed me to cover for one of the actors who greet guests as they enter. The actors have lavish, animal themed LED costumes. Any guesses what animal I’m portraying here?

Well...I beat my daily goal of getting 30 minutes of exercise. Long day of juggling and unicycling. Good night.

I have many things in my personal life to be thankful for but in my professional life I am most thankful for wiseass audiences who are funnier than I am and give me better material than I could ever dream up myself.

A quick example, I was spinning this fancy LED staff at a gig the other night and I said to the audience, “I try to look like a Jedi but really I’m a baton twirler,” it got the small chuckle it deserved. One of the dads in the crowd responds, “a fully armed and operational baton twirler.” We all cracked up. I’m going to try it out tomorrow night and see how it lands. You never know. I might not have his perfect delivery.

And I got the best seat on the plane coming home. Look at that legroom! It’s been a good week.

Now that the election season has officially come to a close we want to once again thank everyone who made Cirque d'Vote possible. This was an insane endeavor activating early voting polling locations with circus show, parades to the polls, and ambient performance outside polling locations in Philladelphia, Wisconsin, Phoenix, Tucson, Austin, Portland, And Asheville. We also enlivened lines on Election Day in many more cities across the country.
We were able to counteract voter suppression with voter inspiration and really put the fun back in fundamental rights. We made it on national news morning shows twice and countless local news organizations covered the story. We supported artists financially during a pandemic for using their talents to ensure the survival of democracy. Here is a huge huge thank you to everyone involved. We can't mention or tag everyone who is responsible for pulling this together because there were far too many people involved. Leave a thank you note for these folks if you believe in the power of joy, love, and circus to change the world.
First We'd like to thank our funders the Center for Artistic Activism and the Project.
The co-directors of Cirque d'Vote Clay Mazing and Maya Pen. Super shout out to the captains of each city Crissy Jung Natalie Brewster Nguyen Jon Dutch Professor Pinkerton Xyloma Kelly Greenheart Geoff Marsh and again.
And then the scores and scores of performers that we don’t have all the tags for.
