Especially for emerging writers, self-doubt is a formidable foe. But remember, all you need is guts and imagination to be a writer. The prose will come with practice, but you have to begin with the courage to start.

As a program for emerging poets under the age of 25, our monthly readings always highlight the excitement of new voices (that’s where the name came from!). Join us April 10th at 2 PM to support these three emerging young poets. Spanning across colleges, genres, and subjects (even science), there is something for everyone.

The featured poets will also be followed by an opening reading of you have new work that you want to share!

Rounding out our outstanding lineup this weekend is Han Yang. Han is a biology student who uses her knowledge of science to bring a new perspective to her poetry. She loves to experiment with her words and to share her interdisciplinary interests.

Our second featured poet for April 10th reading is David Jones, the former Youth Poet Laureate for the City of Philadelphia. He continues to write poetry as a student at Temple University with the hopes of bringing healing to the world. Experience some of his latest work this Saturday.

Our next monthly reading is coming up on Saturday, April 10th at 2 PM followed by an open reading.

One of our featured poets is Isabel Acosta, an English and Communications student at Rosemont College. Isabel’s goal is to inspire her audience with both emotion and appeals to social justice. Hear from her yourself at our reading this weekend!

Our Spring 2021 anthology is almost here and we’re celebrating with a reading! Nearly 40 emerging poets will be highlighted in this publication with many of them reading this Saturday, March 28th at 2:00 PM.
