3 habits I’m leaving behind in 2025:
Habit I: Consuming Over Creating
This is a well-intentioned habit. My best work was inspiration found through other creators. That’s the story of every single creative piece/product. The more you’re exposed to, the more you will make your own. However, this can be an easy loop you fall into that results in analysis paralysis. Take this as your challenge to tip the scale in the other direction. Trust your creativity. Trust your talent and work ethic.
Habit II: Posting Without Intention
This is so tempting. It’s so easy to make a post that lacks intention. A busy season breeds this habit. You suddenly realize that you’ve gone days, weeks, or even months without keeping up your account. It’s okay. What people want to see is authenticity. Trends are fleeting. They are the candy bars of nutrition. Content saturated with intention is the marrow of life.
Habit III: Doing The Wrong Work
This can look like many different things. This can range from work you hate doing to work you’re not meant to do. Do understand me though, there is a time and place for work that may not be your cup of tea, but you’ve got to pay bills, too. This goes back to a perspective of seasons. But you’re also supposed to pour your soul into the work you do. You’ve been given a gift, and you have a responsibility to steward the gift that was given to you. Make sure this is the work that honors the gift you’ve received.
Again, these all can be well-intentioned habits. But aren’t they all? Let’s leave the habits that hold us back in 2025. Step into 2026 with a posture of refinement. Keep moving forward. Keep creating.
