A Love Letter to the Lake Perry Community

We have to say it: we feel truly blessed to have been part of the Lake Perry community these last few years.
We’ve met extraordinary people, built friendships that will last a lifetime, and shared some of the very best nights we can remember — and maybe a few we can’t — right there in that little restaurant by the pool.
Our first year serving you was also our very first year as a company. Pedro and I had spent every last dime we had, and probably a few we didn’t, to buy the 1UP food truck and start this business together. We were doing enough to keep going, but as summer approached, we realized what was ahead of us: long, hot, sweaty days inside a 130-degree metal box, just trying to make ends meet.
And then, like an air-conditioned hand from God — conveniently located next to a pool and a fully stocked bar — Daniel Byron showed up.
Dan introduced us to the board at Lake Perry, helped us get our foot in the door, showed us the ropes, and gave us insight that helped us succeed. We will always be thankful for that.
Pedro and I still talk about that first summer all the time. We remember how much fun we had, but even more than that, we remember how welcoming, supportive, and accepting you all were of our little food company. We truly can’t thank you enough.
Over the years, we’ve learned a lot, grown a lot, and had the time of our lives growing alongside Lake Perry. It’s been incredible watching the lake change, grow, and come alive in new ways. And now, somehow, we have three small businesses operating in the area. How cool is that?
We are so excited to see the Spillway coming back. We have missed the late nights, the live music, and that Lake Perry energy so much. We’re also incredibly happy for Lake Perry Campground and all the great things happening there. They’ve been bringing in some awesome food trucks, and if you haven’t tried their signature Perrywhacker, trust us — it’s a Lake Perry must-have.
And of course, if you’re hanging by the pool on a summer weekend, you know we’ll always have something good for you to try.
We also want to give a special thank-you to The Howling Dog, who has partnered with us to help make this summer possible. We genuinely love working with them because they share the same passion we do for doing things the right way. Their dedication to quality, excellence, and creating a great experience is something we truly admire, and we’re grateful to be working alongside them this season.
At the end of the day, we just want to say thank you.
