My name is Monie Horsechief and I am the sole individual owner of a small Native American catering company called Horsechief Catering. I am 45 years old and have a background in the culinary field for 18 years. I am the 2009 & 2013 “National Indian Taco Champion” and the 2013 “Muscogee Creek Nation Frybread Champion”. My love for food is from the soul and a gift from the Lord. He blesses each and
every one of us with a gift and mine is the talent of cooking and creativity. For this I am thankful and I share that gift with others through my cooking for my catering business and also for my food ministry which allows me to volunteer my cooking skills for different organizations. My catering company prepares Traditional and Non-Traditional food. My specialty is Native American foods, especially my award winning Frybread. Other items include my “Pawnee Foots” - baked meatpies, Traditional Native American dishes such as buffalo burgers, buffalo chili, posole, venison, corn soup, roasted corn on the cob, sugar-free banana nut bread, sugar-free pumpkin-cream cheese bread, and finally some sugar-free cookies (all flavors). I can prepare Non-Traditional food as well. I also can prepare a variety of party trays for any event.
