I remember so vividly taking these maternity photos with . I was super pregnant, feelin’ it, and not at all my best. & came through to do hair and make-up, like the magical fairies they are and these women lifted me up in ways I could never imagine, as they did for many years before and after.

These photos are a reminder of the all women I have had the honor of having in my life. Every step of the way they have embedded in a part of who I am today. I have learned and observed. Laughed and cried. They are the fabric of who I have become or want to.

‘Mother’ takes many forms, and today honors all those who perform that role in all nurturing ways.

And to the two who made me a mom, I am grateful every day.

Happy Mother’s Day 🤍

We are in the weeds these days!
Currently prepping all of May’s events, and a garden expansion as well!

Started a little side quest of expanding my home cut-flower offerings for events; growing more blooms off-site and also out of harm from potential soccer balls and doggy zoomies.

We spent Sunday weeding and turning soil and trenching and adding irrigation.

I’m treating this as a fun project so there isn’t pressure of promised production—there are experts in the field of local flower farming that I absolutely love and rely on. However, tending a garden provides inspiration and expanded knowledge I desire so much these days, and hopefully, to the benefit of beautiful events🌼

SO ready for parties.

The season picking up is the event florist equivalent of “touching grass”. Getting to see and work with our favorite vendors. Being on location. Hugs from couples. Even processing endless boxes of blooms feels goooooood (for now, at least).

Hard to believe that under the current 2+ feet of snow all this beauty (within a month or so) will start to wake and emerge for spring.

Flowers, fruit, bees, and herbs.

It’s inspiration. It supplements my designs. It has expands bigger and stronger each year. Provides lessons, failures, surprises, disappoint and awe all at the same time. It’s anticipation, and also fleeting—a harbinger of summer before its last big autumn show and big winter sleep.

The Audrey Hepburn quote “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow” resonates most these days—the garden is hope✨

Everything for this Post Morrow wedding—from florals, to location and every detail in between—was filled to the brim with love, memories and meaning.

As an event florist, it’s weddings like this one that become my most favorite of all time; from the moment Maddie and I first spoke, all the way to breaking down the ceremony arch in the evening rain (while dancing to throwback hip-hop tunes) is what makes it all the more special.

A love letter to all the blooms from season’s past.

Blooms from the garden. Left behind event blooms brought home to be dried.

All memories, all reminders, of the beauty put out into the world despite how heavy it feels at times.

The couples, families, guests of honor.

These flowers live on—entering their next phase of existence. A bit more fragile, less vibrant, soft, but still equally beautiful.

I hope you all celebrate LOVE today in all its forms 🤍
