We’re sorry (not sorry) for the long post but this is educational and important!
We blocked out the personal information for privacy, but this is why it’s important to have a service agreement for your DJ and all your vendors actually. And read the agreement and understand the terms. You should get a copy of the agreement as well. Having this simple agreement prevents issues like this from happening, especially the day of!
This also goes further into finding a “good and cheap DJ”. We see it all the time online and we experience it ourselves. Good and cheap do not go together. If you want good, you’ll pay for it. If you want cheap, you’ll pay for it (but not in the good way).
While we don’t know the exact circumstances behind this event and were not assuming the details either, this is the 2nd time this month we’ve seen a post like this and it’s common all the time.
We are not a 20+ years of experience industry business, but we’ve been in the industry long enough already to see it all and experience it all.
This is what sets Kindred Moments aside from others in our service area and industry, while we want to have all the weddings and the business, we know that’s not feasible and we believe in supporting small business, we know that competition is healthy, what sets up apart is we want to educate prospective couples and clients on the industry standards and the do’s and don’ts to prevent something like this from happening to you! This is why we launched our “Behind the Moment Podcast by Kindred Moments” for this exact reason! While we may not get all the business, we still want the same thing, for couples to have the best day possible and to be educated in that process!
We didn’t intend for this to be a marketing post or a plug for our own services, we just want to bring awareness to an ongoing issue where other vendors come into the industry to try and undercut services or offer at “cheaper” rates and end up having this issue happen.
Lastly, we want to stress the importance of booking your DJ early in your journey! A DJ is more than someone who presses play!
Please share this post and help spread awareness!
