PERSONAL MESSAGE TO MY RADIO FAMILY
After a great deal of thought, I have made the difficult decision to retire from my two radio programs, Mountain Bluegrass with David Pugh and The Kentucky Hayride with David Pugh.
As many of you know, my relationship with our flagship station recently came to an unexpected end. I was given no explanation for that decision, and I know many of you have had questions and concerns. I sincerely appreciate the tremendous support you have shown me.
Since then, I have been very grateful to hear from other radio stations that have expressed interest in carrying my programs. I want those stations to know how much I appreciate their confidence in me and in the shows.
However, after everything that has happened and after giving this considerable thought, I believe this is the right time in my life to close this chapter.
For many years, radio has been a labor of love for me. I have volunteered countless hours because I loved the music, the artists, and most importantly, you—the listeners. Your friendship, encouragement and loyalty have meant more to me than I can adequately express.
I leave radio with many wonderful memories and with tremendous gratitude for everyone who listened to, supported and believed in Mountain Bluegrass and The Kentucky Hayride through the years.
This isn't the way I expected this chapter to end, but sometimes an unexpected ending opens the door to a new beginning.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening. Thank you for supporting the music. And thank you for supporting me.
