Dark, sultry, and dripping with romance ✨

This collection of moody florals for was designed to feel like a love story whispered in candlelight—velvety textures, inky foliage, and deep burgundy blooms layered with just a touch of softness. Mysterious. Untamed. Unforgettable.

Blooming in waves of deep purple with its intoxicating scent in the summer air… the lavender bloom is on.

But here’s the secret most never hear: when you harvest is everything. Lavender isn’t just a flower — she’s alchemy, and her magic shifts with each stage of bloom.

Whether you're blending botanical potions, crafting dreamy bundles, or stirring her essence into decadent delights, timing is everything!

Here’s exactly when to cut your stems, depending on the kind of magic you're making:

Early Bloom (buds just forming)
Perfect for culinary use – light, delicate, and never overpowering. Think infused honeys, lavender sugar, summer cocktails, and floral desserts.

Mid-Bloom (about 1/3 of the flowers open)
Ideal for essential oils & soaps – this is her peak oil moment, with the richest aroma and deepest potency. Distill her, bottle her, let her linger on the skin.

Half Bloom (just before she fully opens)
The sweet spot for bouquets – her color is vibrant, her form elegant, and she’ll hold her beauty longer when dried. These stems bring timeless romance to every room.

Full Bloom (most flowers open)
Best for sachets, dried bundles, and rustic decor – bold scent, full color, and that wild French countryside charm.

Pro Tip: Harvest in the morning, after the dew dries but before the heat sets in — that’s when her oils are most alive.

Bunching Wisdom
Keep your bunches loose and small. Too tight and moisture gets trapped in the middle, inviting mold before drying is complete. Let her breathe — she dries best with a little space.

Just brought these coral queens in from the field. The way they catch the light, I couldn't keep it to myself.

Velvety petals, bold color, putting on a full-blown show.

Here’s the best part: Asiatic lilies are drama-free when it comes to scent. Unlike their heady oriental cousins (which usually come as a single stem for good reason), these beauties were bred without that overpowering lily perfume. So go ahead — fill the whole vase. No apologies necessary.

Most asked question right now: what's happening with the flower farm this year?

Well, mostly I've just been waiting. I've been waiting to see what was able to make a comeback after the grasshopper devastation last season. Looks like the perennials that are coming back are the delphinium, upright clematis (pictured above), peonies, foxtail lily, some of our allium and our hardy lilies. I've noticed that with the grasshoppers destroying most of the vegetation so early in the season last year, everything is very small since it didn't have a full season to regenerate and grow. A couple other annuals have reseeded themselves but we did not plant any seeds or grew seedlings for this season.

Great news for the other question I've been asked, I have not really seen any 🦗 so we are crossing our fingers that we had that one historic warm winter where ALL the larva in the ground hatched and we will not have the grasshopper pressure we've seen building over the last 3 years. Keeping our fingers crossed 🤞🤞
