I am thrilled to announce that I have officially passed my CMS Level 1 Sommelier exam and achieved my certification as a Sommelier. With this milestone comes new opportunities for Simply the Zest… now introducing “Bottles & Bites”, bringing wine country to the Palm Beaches. We will be offering wine & food experiences in the privacy of your own home with a private Sommelier. Stay tuned this week as we share the different packages available and some special offers. I’m proud to say that my passion for the world of wine has led me to this incredible milestone. However, before it was passion, wine was a very happy memory. In 2017, my (now) husband proposed to me on the Wine Train in Napa Valley, CA. We planned to return in 2020, but obviously our plans changed so instead, I transformed our dining room into an all-in-one vineyard/tasting room. We enjoyed virtual wine tastings from and as well as food & wine pairings I found on Google. And that’s where it all began… a food & wine pairing rabbit hole. Why do they pair well? How do you choose? Why can’t I pair red wine with fish? (you can BTW). These questions led to an evolving enthusiasm for all things wine. Since then, my husband, our dog ‘Napa’ and I have driven round trip from Palm Beach Gardens, FL to Napa, CA 3 times! So far, we’ve spent 3 summers there, fully immersed in one of the greatest wine regions in the world. That’s how long it took to turn a very happy memory into a passion. And now, I would like to share that passion with all of you.
