This is your friendly reminder that it’s time to pinch your dahlias!

Once they get about this size, find that little center stem and snap it right off. (Gotta love that sound 🔈)

Pinching encourages your dahlias to send out more side shoots, which means more blooms all summer long!

And don’t toss that little stem you pinched off—you can plant it and grow a whole new plant! I just shove mine in the dirt, water well, and hope for the best. 🤞🏼

Rain didn’t stop a Sunday night farm stroll

Here’s what’s happening around the farm lately:
•chicken run expansion (and some very happy hens
•all the lilacs
•checking on our “babies” we planted yesterday
•found the perfect fishing stick + puddle to fish in
•peonies are getting close…and some are ready!!
•two little chaos agents running free
•garlic i apparently forgot to harvest last season 🙃
•tiny zinnias starting to poke up through the soil
•a pile of mulch I dumped and definitely forgot to spread(mom brain)
•puddle jumping- obviously

Is it even spring if you’re not stepping in a puddle every 3ft?

Dahlia tuber season is almost wrapped up over here 🌸

If you’ve been meaning to grab tubers for your garden, this weekend is your chance. We’re opening the farm for our in person dahlia tuber sale this Sunday, and we’ll have our widest selection available here at the farm - including some limited varieties not listed online.

Come shop in person, preorder online for pick up, or just stop by and browse the bins with us ✨

Our online tuber sale will stay open through 5/24 (or until varieties sell out) and then close for the season. Once tubers are gone, they’re gone until next year.

After all the flooding here in Michigan, we weren’t sure our peonies would survive.

Now, we walk the rows and hear:

“It’s growing good” 🌸

And somehow… it really is.

This season was almost a wash.

Looks like we’ll have peonies to share with you after all 🤍
