Three Gardens
Truth tells of a garden called Eden,
planted by God's own hand.
A paradise of beauty, where God walked, and communed with Adam, the first man.
A garden unlike any other, with trees bearing fruit, and all things needed to sustain life.
Yet, this was not enough for Adam and Eve, for they ate from the forbidden Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Perhaps this was the first instance of the horry head of greed, as well as disobedience. It was then, that the father of mankind lost us Paradise, and to this day, we still grieve.
From that day forward, we suffer all manner of disease. We must labor for a living, and labor in childbirth. We were, so it seemed, at the mercy of the serpent, and sadly, the world lost peace.
Yet, God, who knows everything beforehand, already had a plan, one most costly. This plan would involve His only Son being born of a Virgin. The very God incarnate would again walk among men in an act of great condescension.
Always, he did the will of his Father, he taught us, healed us, and showed us that only by embracing love, (who is God), can we ever hope to overcome evil.
So then, mankind, in all of our glory, hated and betrayed the precious Prince of Peace.
As he knealt in the Garden of Gethemene, he saw and felt the weight of all of mankind's sins.
His pain was so unbearable that he sweat great drops of blood, and needed tending from an angel to strengthen him to bear our punishment, which would entail a cruel cross.
As men's hatred spewed, crucify him, was heard. Thirty nine lashes upon his back, for every disease known to man. A crown of thorns, a sword in his side, pierced hands and feet. Every drop of blood was spilled for us. There is no greater love in the history of creation. We need only to believe.
Come followers of Jesus, come lay him in his tomb, also a garden. The garden seemingly the common thread where man's downfall would meet his redemption, through God's hand, extended.
What could hold down The King of Glory, for after three days, he arose. The veil was torn between God and man, so that once again, we can commune with God, through the purification of his holy Son.
Jesus appeared to his disciples, instructing them to witness and share the gospel, and to wait, for he shall come again to rescue his believers, and finally, end all evil.
I am sure that there are Gardens in Heaven, for God loved a garden so, that from a garden tomb, bloomed The Rose of Sharon.
None more beautiful is the flower that brings redemption to the world, and through our Savior, Jesus Christ, Paradise is regained, and the stain of sin is mercifully, erased.
" Jesus answered ' I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me. ' "
John 14:6
This blessed Spring, as we sow our beautiful garden, may we seek and commune with God. May we live his teachings and find peace.
Let us spread that peace to the world. May we be the good seed, falling upon good ground, and producing much fruit for the Kingdom of God.
"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." Isaiah 26:3
