I currently offer one on one lessons for everything from learning the basics of using your sewing machine to sewing a complete project with me!

Just finished a Star Wars belt build and I am in love with this 😍
I am particularly proud of it being adjustable while hiding that fact, and I'm excited about the mix of materials used rather than it being all leather.

Happy Holidays from Gallant Tailoring!

The last few weeks the focus has been more wintery garments. We made some winter-additions to this Ariel gown I previously made, including the long-sleeve extension made out of left over fabric from the underskirt, and the faux fur-lined velour capelet. I really like how it turned out! We were considering a teal for the velour fabric, but decided the midnight blue looked more luxurious. Especially when lined with the faux rabbit fur!

I made the men’s cloak out of a wool blend a few years ago. It’s got nice volume for movement, as well as providing some warmth and protection from the elements.

Finished the big Dragon Con commission for the year! I am super happy with how this turned out and can't wait to see it with the full costume look!

This piece is made of Italian leather, with a cotton lining, decorative rivets, and functional clasps down the front.

Whipped up a mock up for my current commission out of scraps. I'm getting much faster at mock-ups, and I have a feeling I'll probably start using the more in the future. I just have to keep working on not feeling guilty using material for the process and not just the product.

Side by side of Kat’s design for her Eowyn cosplay vs the finished cosplay!

A lot of the bespoke costumes I make are a collaboration between the client (or fiancé in this case) and myself.

Kat really designed this whole thing, but when she asked for my input, I thought some authentic leather detailing on the faux-leather jerkin, and leather armor on the war skirt would fit in with the designs in the Lord of the Rings films she was inspired by. (Plus I just really wanted to make a leather war skirt. Look at how cool it is!)

I’ll have to share more closeups of some of the details soon. Stay tuned!
