You are Allowed To Take A Break

Hey Y'all,

Planning anything is a lot of pressure, and can cause overwhelm. Planning a wedding is even more so because you want everything to be perfect.

Hear me out though....

Just like at work when a particular project is stressing you out and you take a break to refresh and recharge your mind, the same is needed for wedding planning. Your partner would appreciate it very much if you decided that for the next few days, it will be a .

Watch a movie, go out for dinner, take a walk. Do something fun that doesn't involve planning, and love on that beautiful person that you are with.

"Why don't some venues tell you that outside catering is not allowed before you book?"

Hey y'all!

It really sucks when you love the venue because it has all of the right ambiance and stations that can you know will be just perfect for your photos so you book it..... only to find out that the caterer that you had an eye on is NOT allowed 😔.

Did you know that you can ask custom questions to suit your needs for your wedding day before leaving?

We provide our clients with a few detailed questions to ask on their venue inspections based on their wedding day priorities.. like in this case of the outside catering.

It is not that venues are hiding anything. They do have their preferred vendors or in-house catering whom they've worked with in the past, and are guaranteed to provide a level of service that they feel confident in.

It is really easy to be carried away by the beauty and feel of a venue...

A beautiful sunset is just the icing for a beautiful couple.

I’ve gushed about this event. About the process and the vendors, and of details and qualities that were imperative to making this event the success that it was.

Yet, this event would not have been possible if ChaNel had not searched Wedding Wire and scheduled a call with me. She said that she loved that our company involved a husband and wife team, as one of the reasons that drew her to us. As we got to know each other throughout the process, we moved from the regular client to vendor relationship. She and Derrick became more like friends.

There are always two stories being told, one by you the viewer, and the other by the photographer.

It is always so awesome to see how perspective changes when you’re living in the moment, and by contrast, someone’s else’s portrayal (your photographer) of you living your moment - joy, happiness, animation that is captured.

Our final vendor spotlight for ChaNel & Derrick is none other than Ying Butler of Ying’s Artistic Vision. She just has a way of capturing awesome candid shots, as well as a calm demeanor that naturally puts you at ease. I’ve used her for personal photos myself, which was how we actually met. When it was time for this wedding, I immediately shared Ying’s info with ChaNel. After sharing her portfolio with ChaNel, I loved the outcome because this was a leap of faith. ChaNel trusted my referral and trusted Ying to capture their day.

Naturally, As soon as Ying arrived she put everyone at ease and just allowed them to express themselves, be free and fluid. As she was already prepared with a shot list complete with the important names of people that were imperative for family photos, as well as groupings, the photography session was a breeze.

I cannot wait to share her gorgeous work with you because the sneak peeks are absolutely AAH -MAZ-ING!

If "HEY DJ YOU'RE PLAYING MY SONG" was a person.

So listen, I already alluded to you that a grand time was had at the wedding right?

Shout out to Jay of Jemstone Productions. This guy is just amazing. When I reached out to him to assist with ChaNel & Derrick's wedding, we had only just met at Wedding MBA in November. His relaxed and composed vibe created an instant connection that I felt would be awesome for this event.

So after we chatted about the possibility of doing the wedding....

Y'all.

🛑He offered an opportunity for her to experience him live in action before, she booked.🛑

Needless to say, they hit it off immediately. They chatted for hours, and of course, she booked him for the wedding. She loved most of all how he had the crowd moving, and how, even people who may not listen to that type of music were having fun.

So cut to the wedding. He was extremely thorough.
He wanted to make sure that he had the right songs that ChaNel and Derrick would like, and suggested the best song for their entrance that would create excitement in her guests.

The most beautiful part of this is that ChaNel and Derrick are from Pensylvannia and Missouri, and as both the babies of their families, grew up on Motown and Midwest Swing music. Jay's response to this info was "yes! They love real music!". And the rest, as they say, was history.

Together we coordinated the perfect playlist:

- from the parents walking into an Instrumental of 🎵Aint Nothing Like the Real Thing🎵

- to ChaNel & Derrick's recessional song of 🎵Aint No Stopping Us Now🎵,

It was an awesome blend of old school with current Motown vibes.

DJ Dragon then took it up several levels once he was in the zone for the reception. Let's just say, no one wanted it to end...💃🏾

Just Add Flowers?

Okay, listen. Please bear with us as we gush about our wonderful vendors that made ChaNel & Derrick’s event and amazing success.

Today we are talking about the lovely ladies of Signature Inspirations.

After reaching out to 5 other florists, I reached out to Camille exactly 6 weeks prior to the wedding date. At this time both ChaNel & I were frustrated with the quotes for flowers for the day. You see, she loves eucalyptus and hydrangea, yet wanted a tropical look that will fit the mood of the Venue. She didn’t want too much color in the flowers, just pops of her chosen colors - orange and blue - to let the surrounding beauty provide by nature to be the highlight.

As I relayed these requests to Camille, she asked for a few photos to reference. Her exact words after reviewing them were “these inspiration photos are not giving😂”. Immediately, I thought, she gets it. She said, I can do this for you, and I will fix it up. Y’all, she took the vision and made it absolutely stunning.

ChaNel & Derrick loved it - she said she couldn’t picture how the orange and the blue would come together without being too much, and that Camille created a masterpiece that was just perfect.
