HINT No 2 July 2025 Name That Tune

The Presidents of the United States of America were a 90s band known for their quirky, playful, and often nonsensical lyrics. The song "Lump" was released in 1995 on their self-titled debut album and became a hit, reaching number one on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. It became so popular even Weird Al made a mock of it with his version “Gump”: Gump sat alone on a bench in the park. "My name is Forrest", he'd casually remark. Waitin' for the bus with his hands in his pockets. He just kept sayin' life is like a box of chocolates.” Click the link below to listen to “Lump” by The Presidents of the United States of America.

HINTS for July 2025 Trivia!

Generations are typically defined as groups of people born around the same time who share common cultural and historical experiences, shaping their values and perspectives. While there isn't one universally agreed-upon definition, common generations include The Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z, and the most recent, Gen Alpha. The dates for these generations vary depending who you talk to, but are relatively similar. However, trying to place every single person inside an invisible box never works. That’s why some people have created alternate micro-generation titles such as Gen Jones: the generation between Boomers & Gen X, Xennials: the generation between Millennials and Gen X, and Zalpha (I’ll let you guess which generations that is between). The next generation to join us on this lovely planet will be Gen Beta. Gen Beta is projected to include those born from 2025 to 2039, making Gen Beta the second generation to be born entirely within the 21st century, after Gen Alpha! How cool is that!

HINT No 1 for June 2025 Name That Tune

"Here Comes the Hotstepper" by Ini Kamoze, released in 1994, became a massive hit despite a somewhat unconventional path to success. Initially recorded in 1992, the song was included on a compilation album and later remixed with a sample from Taana Gardner's "Heartbeat", which significantly boosted its appeal. The song's popularity surged after it was featured in the film "Prêt-à-Porter" and gained significant airplay on influential New York radio stations. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and achieved platinum status, becoming a global dancefloor anthem and popularizing the term "hotstepper". HINTS for June 2025 TRIVIA
June 16th is World Sea Turtle Day! Sea Turtles are some of the oldest living reptiles in the world! They have existed alongside dinosaurs and some live up to 100 years! Leatherback sea turtles are the largest sea turtle species, reaching sizes up to 10 feet and weighing over 2,000lbs! But all Sea Turtles begin life very very small. Female Sea Turtles are known to return to the same beaches where they themselves hatched in order to lay their own eggs! It’s an incredible feat of navigation for a creature without a compass or maps! They will often travel thousands of miles to find their home beach to create their sand nests. Did you know: the temperature of the sand in the nest determines the s*x of the hatchlings! Warmer temperatures typically produce more females.. who will then return in 20 or 30 years to that exact beach to become a mother themselves! How awesome is nature!

Name That Tune - May 2025 - HINT 1

The song "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head", performed by B.J. Thomas, is a cute & catchy tune that has bopped through the airways since 1969 when it was written for the film ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’. The song was specifically composed for a scene in the movie where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid take a bike ride. (Which, I’m not sure if you’ve seen the movie, but is a completely random scene that makes no sense at all story wise lol) Click the link below to listen to B.J. Thomas perform “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head”

Name That Tune - May 2025 - HINT 2

The bubbly hit song "Apt." by Rosé, with Bruno Mars, was inspired by a Korean drinking game called "Apartment"! The song features the rhythmic chant "apateu" (Korean for "apartment") as a playful and catchy chorus. The game involves stacking hands and chanting "apateu," with the person whose hand lands on top taking a shot! Click the link below to listen to “Apt.” by Rosé, feat. Bruno Mars!

May 2025 TRIVIA HINTS

Horses! 🐎 Am I right?!

Horses were first domesticated over 5,000 years ago in the Middle East! The Botai people in Kazakhstan are thought to be the first culture to ever integrate the use of horses into their daily lives. Signs of horses being used for hunting, herding, and even being used for their MILK goes back as early as 3500 BC! But in North America, horses had gone extinct! They weren't re-introduced until the late 1400s by Spanish conquistadors. Beginning in Mexico, these horses quickly adapted and multiplied in the grasslands, many escaping and becoming feral. The re-introduction of horses transformed life for many Native American tribes, particularly the buffalo-hunting tribes who found the horses to be invaluable. Now in the year 2025 horses are no longer a necessity, but more so for leisure and entertainment. We keep them as companions for pleasure riding and whispering secrets to. Or we place them in competitive sports such as Dressage, Show Jumping, and Reining. The most popular of the equine sports probably being The Kentucky Derby, where 20 three-year-old horses run 1.25 miles in two minutes in order to proudly wear 554 roses! So let's don our Fancy Hats, grab our Mint Juleps, & Run for the Roses together! 🏇🏇🏇
