On Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center will host its annual Juneteenth commemoration and celebration.

Built with community partners, this FREE family-friendly Juneteenth event provides an opportunity to commemorate this history with art, music, food, dance, storytelling and more.

2026 Event Features:

*Performances by KC Friends of Alvin Ailey, The Blue Curtain Project, and jazz pianist Desmond Mason

*Free admission to the Johnson County Museum, including KidScape sponsored by Panasonic Energy

*Food samples from local Black-owned businesses Brown Suga*, Ruby Jean's Juicery, and KC’s Wing Bar

*Food for purchase by Blended Vibes Catering

*Arts activity led by JCPRD Fine and Performing Arts staff

*Sit and Read Activity with Johnson County Library

*Meet and greet with KC-based artist Daniel Montoute, whose Juneteenth-commissioned work 'Field of Dreams' will be on display
