A note on pricing:
For a catering, pricing will vary depending on market prices and events will be charged as follows:
-nonrefundable deposit: this covers the cost of food. This ensures that if for some reason you back out, I am not out money. As a small business, I personally cannot afford to lose out on a large amount of money like some big corporations can. Should there be a cancelation, I have to find a way to reuse those products for someone else which will take time and effort. If there is something like prime rib or more expensive ingredients, I'm going to be holding on to it much longer than others things like chicken. Unfortunately, this is not a risk I am willing to take, but I will also make sure to make it as affordable as possible for you in the end.
-there will also be a $7 charge per head. This is what pays me for my time and my almost 20 years of experience. Looking at it this way, if I am making enough food for a 15 person party, there will be the price of the deposit plus a $105 fee due after delivery. If it takes me, say 5 hours to make said meal, that works out to $21/hr, or if at a regular job that would pay me for a 40hr work week $43,680 per year. That's really not a ton of money considering how expensive everything is now a days, and the fact that this is not my full time employment. You're getting a full service, custom made product that includes a limited delivery area with no extra fee (within reason). I also make make adjustments for dietary restrictions like gluten or dairy free, which most places I'm sure make an extra charge for, so also keep that in mind.
For meal prepping:
-deposit remains the same for the same reasons, the only difference is if I will only charge for the product I use (if i only need like .5lb of a meat but can only buy 1lb portions, for example). This is non negotiable.
-depending on the variety of meals required, charges will vary. For a larger amount of identical meals, it will be $4 per serving and for a mixed variety of meals it will be $6. This includes coming to your house (if that's what you choose) and cleaning everything up afterwards so you literally just have to put everything in a microwave or oven to reheat. Full service culinary usually costs a lot more (think going to a restaraunt, on average say $20 a plate).
Hoping this clears some things up, it sounds like it's expensive but in the grand scheme of things when it's not a mass produced product catered to your specific tastes and needs, I'm probably under charging.
