Tonight I got the chance to listen to stories from . I got to ask her if she was to steal anyone else’s song what would it be?

She gleefully said “Evergreen” by Barbra Streisand lolllllllll.

I could have listened to her tell stories all night. Hopefully people hosting her understand that she can, that she holds a lifetime of wisdom, and has never needed to share the spotlight with anyone.

Sometimes you get to ‘meet’ talented artists you’ve always admired.

*If you don’t know, Tammi Terrell’s birth name was as shown, Thomasina Montgomery. She was named after her father because they hoped for a boy child. Her childhood nickname was Tommie which she eventually shifted to Tammy. Her early recordings on Scepter/Wand, James Brown and Checker records featured her birth last name.

It’s exactly a week shy of the day she ‘became’ Tammi Terrell on her 20th birthday (April 29, 1965) by signing her contract with Motown.

In a lot of ways, this is the sweetest thing I’ve done for myself in a long while. If you ever get the vibe to visit her gravesite it is about 100ft away from the office in section A2. Walk back from the driveway where there’s a trio of trees straight back. Her gravesite is literally the last row along 84th/Hook.
