He fell in love with the music and decided to put his own signature on the scene and in 1995 set out to do just that. Now spanning over two decades he’s performed around the U.S. and abroad with House music’s finest and continues to grow as an Artist. Jamie was first influenced by Chicago House pioneers and added his own sound developed from the Acid, Tech, Deep, Disco and Funky rhythms heard at u
nderground warehouse parties. After learning to mix vinyl he quickly gained a name for himself amongst his peers and would later branch out to throw his own events. His sound caught the ear of friends which led to his Northwest debut opening for Donald Glaude at the Kitsap Pavilion in Washington. He became a favorite and continued to play at various venues in Washington over the years including the infamous Naf Studios Warehouse in Seattle. He would later return to NAF to play the main stage for New Years’ Eve bringing in the new year 2000. The next few years Jamie moved to splitting his time as both a DJ and promoter curating his own events. Teaming up with DJ friends they brought out some of House music’s top Producers and this opened the door for Jamie to play alongside those who
influenced him most like Mark Farina, JT Donaldson, DJ Sneak, DJ Mes, Hector Moralez, The Littlemen, Fred Everything, DJ Heather, IZ & DIZ, Giom, Wally Callerio, LawnChair Generals, Da Sunlounge, Tom Special Interest, Jeno, Arturo Garces, Rick Preston, and Eden Lee of Kinky Movement, just to name a few. Since 2013 he’s been a part of the Bay Area collective, Sunshine People, formed with fellow DJ friends who have seen their day party and venue events grow over the years that have included talent such as Sunshine Jones, Tony Hewitt, Blakkat, Mazi, David Harness, Reelsoul, Jay-J, Mr. In 2017 Jamie Swing became a support Resident DJ for the San Francisco club, Halcyon opening for Global DJ/Producers: Danny Tenaglia, Todd Terry, Derrick Carter, Roger Sanchez, Franky Rizardo, DJ Sneak, Demuir and Purple Disco Machine, Marques Wyatt, and Sam Divine. He would later join the Halcyon crew in 2019 for their inaugural 4-day festival, E Komo Mai which took place in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he opened for UK
Artist Jacky. With gigs played in Chicago, New York, Washington, Miami, Hawaii, Mexico, Burning Man, Croatia, and various Humboldt County venues, Jamie Swing looks forward to seeing where the music takes him in the world of electronic music. Jamie Swing now looks to put his attention toward making music so look out for future release projects and collaborations. We’re excited for what’s to come!
