Two years ago, filmmaker Beth Howard visited the Classic to hunt down a beloved food vendor, the Pie Lady. Beth was creating a documentary about pie in Iowa, and how it brings people together one slice at a time. As we often do at the Classic, we elevated her experience with a hot air balloon ride to have PIE IN THE SKY with Cory Bloom—the PIE-lot in command. She also interviewed some of our race officials. As Beth states, the Classic segment is a very sweet piece in her documentary, Pieowa.
