BED RACES ARE BACK! Check out the rules here, and get your team together!
RULES:
You need a team of 5 ( 4 pushers and one rider ) team members must be at least 10 years of age
The bed can be any size from twin to king and must have a box spring, mattress, or both. No air mattress allowed! The bed must not be higher than 8 feet off the ground.
The wheels must be on the ground as the bed crosses the finish line and all wheels must be load bearing and functional. Steering devices may be used.
The rider must be on the bed at all times during the race.
Push bars or handles are allowed, but may not extend more than 16 inches from the bed frame. They must be designed with safety in mind with no sharp or jagged edges.
No motorized or mechanical means of motion may be used other than the team members pushing.
Beds must be fashioned that all pushers are able to see the course in front of them. All 4 pushers must be in contact with the bed when it crosses the finish line. Footwear is required.
Teams are encouraged but not required to create a theme and decorate and dress in the theme. There will be a prize for the Best Overall Theme!
We will line up in the south Alerus bank parking lot with the first race set for 6pm. Each team will race twice going for the fastest time. The first and second place teams will race for the top prize of $150 with second getting $100 and third getting $50.
