Six years ago, when COVID reshaped the world and brought live events to a halt, many of the festivals and large-scale productions I built — including the Independent Tone Awards that became cemented in Charleston — were forced to pause.
But leadership adapts.
When stages went dark, I leaned into service in a different way. I began working in bipartisan spaces on Capitol Hill, advocating for policies that support individuals with disabilities, and families who deserve better access to transportation and essential services.
This past Wednesday, February 25th, I had the honor of returning to Capitol Hill for the second time to speak and contribute to conversations focused on practical solutions — not politics — but people.
It has been six years since organizing a major festival outside of our artisan markets. And while the public events paused, the mission never did.
Impact isn’t limited to entertainment.
It isn’t limited to business.
And it isn’t limited to one lane.
I remain committed to building experiences that bring communities together — and supporting initiatives that move communities forward.
The work continues.
