Feign Kin is a musical project by James Turner. Originally from Georgia, James spent just over a decade in Tennessee before moving to Norfolk at the tail end of 2020. After learning of his adoption later in life, he began to ask himself the question ā€œWhat if we all just pretended we were family?ā€ Now, five years in, the project continues to sprout new branches with friends joining to collaborate along the way. Forged out of a youth steeped in punk and hardcore, Turner brings that curiosity and feeling to a more roots-based sound. Feign Kin will soon be celebrating the release of the debut album ā€˜A Brand New Brightā€™
