As we approach Thanksgiving, we here at Honeysuckle Cafe have had quite the year to reflect on. This has been the best, most fulfilling, hardest year of our lives. We would like to give thanks and make some announcements. We are so thankful to our parents, both Hideko Ray and Mark and Ellie Fetterly, for all their support and their investment in us as a company. We are so thankful to all the vendors and reps and farmers and artisans that we were blessed to work with over the last year. We are so thankful for our friends and new found family that have supported us. We are so grateful to the people who voted for us to allow us to win the awards in our first year of business. And we are eternally grateful to all the customers and fans that came in and gave us your support, we love you guys more than you can know. Thank you everyone for everything.
Now for some announcements.
With health being our main concern at the moment here are some updates. Chef Ross is recovering wonderfully after his full left hip replacement. Unfortunately his right hip has deteriorated to the point where it will need to be replaced as well, which once again we are progressing towards. But we remain extremely hopeful that he will make not only a full recovery from both but that he will be better than ever!
Now for the not so great news. Some may know, some may not, but our senior partner, Mark Fetterly, has been dealing with some brain health issues relating to his short term memory. Its a degenerative condition that so far has not become debilitating but definitely has impacted what all of our visions of the future look like. These revelations combined with an uncertain timetable for a full recovery for Chef Ross have unfortunately led us to the decision, as a family, to sell the building and close the business.
We may be closing the book on Honeysuckle Cafe but this is by no means the end of our culinary journey. We are very heartbroken about how this has played out and the near future is uncertain at the moment but as soon as we decide what will be the best for our family we will let you guys know where to find us.
Thank you everyone again for all the support.
