Congratulations to the little Hudson Valley Village of Philmont (pop. 1500) for making a big splash in the world of community revitalization! With funding and technical support from the DOS Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) program, the Philmont Rising initiative has re-imagined and re-designed two strategic BOA sites--a new community center/makers space and a springboard for nature and historic trails at an existing parking lot. And both projects have received design awards for their work from prestigious groups like the American Institute of Architects and Society of American Registered Architects.

Credit to both the Village, Philmont Beautification Inc. and their consultant, Rice+Lipka Architects, for this award-winning work! DOS is proud to support such exemplary projects!
