Cocktail hour is really just a time placeholder. Think of it like a polite, obligatory way to keep people occupied while you take photos and the finishing touches are being dialed in.

With that in mind, a few pro tips ✨

Keep the music low key and predictable. Something that says “stand here and make small talk”.

Food should be … fine. Nothing too interesting, nothing people will talk about later, and definitely not abundant. You don’t want people to fill up before dinner.

And the bar, one bartender is plenty. Lines are part of the experience! It gives guests a moment to reflect and build anticipation for their drink.

Definitely don’t give them anything to do. No games, definitely no moments, and please … nothing that might actually shift the energy.

And honestly, just forget the details. No one notices them.

Let it feel a little slow, a little quiet, a little like nothing is really happening yet.

Now let’s see who actually reads captions.

Because, Bruh. As if.
