We are heading into our 5th growing year for East Main Blooms! It’s honestly hard to believe it’s been that long and yet in some ways it feels longer than that. We are SO THANKFUL for the support we have received 🫶🏼

What to expect for this year:

🌼 this is my sons last summer before he goes to kindergarten 🥺 because of that this page may be quieter as well as how often the studio is open. I plan to stuff our summer full of adventures as his “little years” come to an end.

🌼 florist, designers, and photographers please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re interested in flowers/pictures! As well as anyone who needs special orders for parties etc.

🌼 our flower field, front porch houseplant area and fountain will be open for photography by end of June depending on how quickly the field goes into bloom!

We are excited to see what the 2026 season brings us!

Greenhouses can be intimidating with all of the choices! So many beautiful flowers, but what pairs well together without one taking over the others? How many plants do I need to fill my container? And even more importantly WHAT flowers do I need for my light exposure?

🪴 Start by observing the space you wish to plant flowers in. Anything that gets over 6 hrs of intense sun is considered full sun. If it gets morning sun but afternoon and evening shade then it’s a shade or part sun planting opportunity.

🪴 Next head over to Proven Winners container gardening site. You can put in light exposure needs, the size of your container and even a specific flower you might be interested in using. But most importantly it shows you what plays together without flowers fighting each other for space. This is an invaluable resource!!

🪴 Learn how to read plant tags. They will tell you what light exposure the flower needs, the height and width of the plant and sometimes they’ll even share what pairs well with it. I also try to take notice what the greenhouse has paired together in their containers and hanging baskets.

🪴 There is also no shame in asking a greenhouse employee for help! I’ve done this countless times. Good chance is if they’re working in a greenhouse they probably love talking about flowers!

Happy gardening friends!
