STORYTIME: I’M BACK IN COLLEGE. When I was in high school, was my dream school. Growing up in Venezuela, that felt a little wild, ambitious, maybe even out of reach. But I was a straight A student, a total perfectionist (not always a good thing), and I worked really hard. Eventually, I got accepted into the school I thought was impossible. I’ll never forget that moment. I jumped, I cried, I called my mom. My time at NYU was incredible, but I eventually made the tough decision to leave and focus on building my career in the entertainment business. Everything I learned at NYU though, I’ve applied to my career. And deep down, I always felt I had some unfinished business. Now, years later, I’m back. An NYU student once more.
But let me be clear: this is just ONE part of my life right now. I’m not “just” a student. I’m working full time, managing multiple health conditions that require daily care and attention, planning a wedding (!!), and trying to be present in my relationships. School comes after all of that (I’m not 17 anymore lol!). And while the balancing act isn’t easy, I’m really, really proud of myself. I’ve been back in school for a little while, but wanted to keep it private until I fully settled into it. Oh, and no, I’m not moving to NYC. I’m an NYU online student, and just as proud. If you’ve ever had a dream, a goal, or something tugging at your heart that you left behind, I’m here to tell you it’s not too late. Ever. 💜
