An evening well spent The Yacht Club

From the moment I walked in, I was taken by this space—the interiors, the details, and then those incredible views outside. Absolutely stunning.

Venue visits like this are an important part of what I do as a Planner. There is a difference between knowing that a venue exists and actually experiencing the space, understanding how it flows, meeting the people behind it, and being able to envision what may—or may not—work for a particular client.

The same is true of the relationships I continue to build with venues and vendors throughout the industry. When it is time to make recommendations, I want them to come from more than a Google search or a pretty picture. I want to know the spaces, know the professionals, and understand the experience my clients can expect.

Because beautiful events begin long before the room is designed.

From the purple-carpet-inspired touches to the tables, décor, and thoughtful elements throughout the space, every detail helped create an evening that felt celebratory, glamorous (not stuffy), and worthy of the young people being honored.

✨️An evening designed to be experienced ✨

I had the pleasure of joining fellow New York City event professionals for an intimate showcase evening Cathédrale Restaurant in the East Village.

The evening began with cocktails at Little Sister Lounge before moving upstairs for dinner, on the Patio and in the Poster Room -- getting a closer look at the hospitality, culinary experience and versatility Cathédrale offers for private events.

One of the things I appreciate most about evenings like this is being able to experience a venue in motion—the lighting, the flow between spaces, the food, the service, the energy in the room and, most importantly, how guests actually experience it. Those are the details that matter when I’m considering where to bring a client’s vision to life.

Thank you to the Cathédrale and the Tao Group Hospitality teams for such a wonderful evening and for bringing together an incredible group of event professionals.

Your venue may be one of the very first decisions you make when planning your wedding or special event, but should it be a decision you make before hiring your planner?

I just wrote about something I wish more clients understood: when you hire an experienced planner early, you’re not only getting help with logistics. You’re also benefiting from relationships, venue knowledge, industry connections, site visits, hospitality experiences, and conversations that have been built long before you ever became a client.

From Crane Club Restaurant in Chelsea to Cathédrale Restaurant in the East Village and Hemlock Neversink in the Catskills, I’m experiencing spaces, meeting hospitality professionals, and expanding the resources I can bring back to the people I serve because sometimes, when you tell me what you’re looking for… I may know just the place.

A time was had with the Foster Supply Hospitality team at their first planner retreat Hemlock Neversink in the Catskills.

A beautiful property, with great food, wonderful conversations, curated experiences, things to explore and, of course, the goats. 🐐

I always appreciate the opportunity to experience a property in person to really see what might work for my clients and I left Hemlock thinking about so many possibilities — milestone celebrations, social events, corporate retreats, group experiences, weddings and full weekend gatherings.

Thank you to the entire Foster Supply Hospitality team for having me and for such a warm welcome. I truly enjoyed my time with you and look forward to more experiences with our clients.

Capitale NYC certainly knows how to set the stage.

Last night’s wedding showcase brought together beautiful design, inspiring fashion and some of the industry’s best. I especially enjoyed reconnecting with Michelle from the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism (The Bahamas) and Jennifer from Grand Hyatt Baha Mar (Grand Hyatt Baha Mar). The conversation, the possibilities and those breathtaking Bahamian celebrations already have me inspired.

Here’s to creating unforgettable experiences with exceptional couples, venues and destination partners throughout 2026 and 2027.
