Trinidadian born Colin Williams is a photographer now living in New York. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but Colin Williams' may just leave you speechless. His sharp eye and creative vision has filled ad campaigns, magazines, newspapers, websites, portfolios, and documentaries of the world's most well known brands. He offers a humble approach to every project with a unique combinati
on of cross-functional skills. In 1990 Colin went to Japan for 14 days and fell in love with the Japanese City, Tokyo. He then for 10 years in Tokyo launched into event planning under the Soul Boys brand while working as a freelance photographer for Japanese pop music and fashion magazines. He also found a niche as a model without ever having had to attend a casting, getting a chance to be on the other side of the camera lens. Upon moving permanently back to New York City after 10 years of living in both Cities, he began a hectic career in Photography and film production. Life consisted of Soul Boys events, celebrity portraiture, model testing, magazine editorials and events. It was a new lifestyle with new ideas, working as a freelance production assistant while shooting and working on every creative music video, TV commercial and independent film that he could. In 2006 Colin returned to his roots in Trinidad and began working as the creative director of Ocean Style magazine. While traveling in the Caribbean shooting and producing shoots, he thought it would be a great opportunity for Tobago to have high-end photography to highlight it’s unique lifestyle, culture, natural beauty of the beaches and people. His idea was to use his existing relationship with Getty images and work as the associated producer for a shoot. The shoot turned out great and Colin has forged a relationship with the tourism boards and Getty images. The stock Images from that shoot have been used in Hollywood films and travel Ads around the World. Using a sharp eye that was originally inspired by this same rich beauty, and a natural creative vision as a guide, Colin found time to cover the World famous Trinidad and Tobago carnival for magazines both online and print. CWP has been commissioned by Governments, Tourism Boards/Authorities and Publishing Houses to produce and deliver high-end images reflecting the raw beauty, lifestyle, culture and celebrations of the various Islands for the travel and tourism industry. All images were compiled to create a stock photo library to be used in promotions for travel, marketing, advertising, press and trade shows. CWP has choreographed the look, layout, production and editing of images used in magazine from cover to cover. Liaised between clients, style team, printers, agencies and advertisement buyers.
