When Mother Nature RSVP'd.
There are events you remember for their beauty. And then there are the ones you remember because every plan had to evolve in real time.
As severe weather rolled across the East End and tornado warnings shifted an evening originally designed beneath the sky, our team quietly pivoted alongside our incredible partners to deliver a gala worthy of the Parrish Art Museum.
Guests began with a collection of our seasonal summer hors d'oeuvres before sitting down to a first course of Sesame Crusted Shrimp, followed by Corn Nut–Crusted Steelhead Trout. And in perhaps the most fitting ending to A Night in the Clouds, our coconut key lime cake made its way from dinner into the Afterglow celebration, joined by floating clouds of spun cotton candy and an assortment of whimsical sweet and savory confections.
The evening ultimately raised more than $1.7 million, the most successful Midsummer Gala in the museum's history, supporting the Parrish's exhibitions, education initiatives and cultural programming. We couldn't be more honored to have been part of it.
