I’m proud to announce that I’ve officially **advanced to the Top 10 in the Style Icon competition!**

As a **service dog trainer**, I’ve learned that **style is not just appearance — it’s discipline, purpose, and impact.** Every step I take in fashion and philanthropy reflects that same dedication to the people and animals I support.

As the **founder and owner of Houston Fashion Week®, Austin Fashion Week®, Dallas Fort Worth Fashion Week®, and San Antonio Fashion Week® in Texas**, and as a proud representative of **Staten Island, the Hamptons, the Financial District in Manhattan, and New York City Fashion Week**, I continue to build platforms that celebrate **creativity, authenticity, and innovation**.

Organizers dictate the criteria, shaping casting decisions in alignment with the fashion house's editorial direction. High-profile events like Fashion Week serve as a transformative platform, catapulting emerging talents into the spotlight—a realm attainable through dedication and hard work.
The scouting process unfolds in stages. Initial focus rests on undiscovered talents not bound by agency contracts. Subsequently, attention shifts to models in direct contractual agreements with the organizers, followed by those selected under Fashion Week's conditions rather than agency affiliations. An open call provides a final avenue for aspiring models seeking coveted positions.
A novel addition to the landscape is the model contest, offering an affordable and legitimate entry point, sparing participants from lengthy casting queues. This approach proves advantageous; participants typically believe in their potential, contributing to a pool of aspiring models with genuine promise. While not everyone emerges victorious, the mere presence of these models may attract agency attention, leading to potential invitations and, ultimately, coveted contracts with Fashion Week.

In the world of fashion, rules constantly change, especially when it comes to scouting models. Under current standards, almost anyone could be a model. However, it's the organizer who sets the rules, and the casting is shaped by the editorial line of the fashion house in search of models. In the case of events as significant as Fashion Week, these become a showcase that propels new faces to fame. The price to enter the circle of such an event requires dedication and effort.

Initially, we look for new models, fresh faces without contracts with any modeling agency. Next are the models with a direct contract with us. The following tier includes agency models, selected based on Fashion Week's conditions rather than the agency's. The last option is the open call for models. Those aspiring to secure a spot through the open call vie for the last available positions, if any.

The model contest is a new option created to allow models to participate at a minimal cost, sparing them from long queues at casting calls. It's a convenient and entirely valid approach. There's even an advantage in the contest; those who sign up believe they have potential. If they don't, they wouldn't bother registering, leaving space for aspiring models with potential to find a new, secure platform that could lead them to success.

Not everyone will be a winner, but their mere presence may catch the attention of an agency. Whether chosen through the contest or not, a model may be invited to be part of the event, potentially securing a coveted contract with Fashion Week.
