“Cancer Free” - one year ago today, I got the news I had been praying for. 💗
As someone who spends every day helping others celebrate life’s most meaningful moments, today I’m taking my own advice, and celebrating one of the greatest milestones of my life: one year cancer free.
Sharing these photos is not easy, despite the pride I feel for getting through it. They show a version of me I struggle to recognize, no hair, body exhausted, constantly wondering what obstacle I’d need to overcome next and fearful of what the future held. But they also show someone who showed up. Who kept going no matter what the obstacle was. Who had the most incredible community holding her up the entire way.
To every client who trusted me with their wedding, their celebration, their joy, during the most difficult chapter of my life, thank you. You will never fully know what your faith in me meant when I needed it most. You are the reason I could keep doing what I love and provided me the purpose I needed to push through each of the toughest moments.
I am still navigating what life after cancer looks like. Some days are harder than others. But I am HERE. I am well. And I get to keep doing the work I love most, helping people celebrate the moments that matter.
If I’m always reminding you to celebrate every milestone, big and small, I owe it to myself to celebrate this one too. 🥂 Thank you for being part of my story. Cheers to life! 🩷
