Pennywell Events Hi! I'm Alicia, the owner/planner/"it" girl of Pennywell Events. I absolutely love to plan weddings, no really, it's what I have dreams about most nights.

Pennywell Events started in the name of passion; passion for a good party, for an elegant and personal experience, but mostly passion for creating a spectacular event. Pennywell Events started in the name of passion;

I worked in the NYC fashion industry for about 5yrs, and while it wasn't what I was hoping for, it did give this New Orleans native the opportunity to move back to Louisiana. It also gave me the chance to expand my knowledge and eventually find out that I really wanted to plan weddings! I really got my first taste for wedding planning with my own wedding in October 2011. I was living in Brooklyn, NY and planning for the wedding in New Orleans, LA (my hometown). Throughout the engagement period, all of the fine details, such as the importance of the best venue for the event, the right lighting to set the mood, and the music to pull it all together, became even more crucial as I was planning from 1,300 miles away. Six months post-wedding, I and my then new husband moved to Monroe, LA to pursue new opportunities. I started working with a local wedding coordinator and dove head first into all that wedding and event planning could offer. After working in the wedding planning industry for a number of years under the direction of other professional planners, I knew that I wanted to, and could, offer a professional and fun experience to anyone planning an event. Today, Pennywell Events is available to assist couples in planning a unique and memorable wedding without the overwhelming stress. I have experience in managing events from Tennessee to Georgia, and even that party city,

Philip & Emma's Parisian Picnic Engagement Party

Imagine a picnic spread out on a blue and white gingham cloth on the lawn adjacent to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Filled with fresh fruits, veggies, beautiful bottles of wine and champagne and fresh flowers all around. That was the vision for Phillip and Emma's Engagement Party in Monroe, Louisiana, held at a private residence with a fantastic backyard!

Despite it being in July, we were lucky to have a beautiful day and acceptable temperatures to keep the festivities and the celebration of their love story going all afternoon!

We had a fantastic drink selection thanks to the local G.O.A.T., Russell at Tonore's Wine Cellar, just in case anyone needed a refreshing and tasty beverage. (Also helped me find a gin that I'm now obsessed with thanks to his amazing pairing for the French 75s!)

We also got to pair with the amazing team at Apero in Monroe for the food and cake! AND Apero took special care with the menu to accommodate the dietary restrictions that we were looking for without ever making anyone feel like they were missing out or not able to fully enjoy the experience.

We also had beautiful arrangements and fresh herbs in terra cotta pots from local florist, Chris Allums.

And all of our rentals, tent and fans included, were from the local trusted vendor, Dansby Taylor Rentals.

All signs and printed materials came from our favorite local printer, SirSpeedy in Monroe!

Thank you to our amazing host and Mother of the Groom for bringing us in to bring this magnificent event to life! And to her wonderful husband for saving the day with an additional fan for the bartender!
