Pennywell Events

Pennywell Events Pennywell Events combines a charming blend of creative intuition with a personal touch of "let's party" for a memorable and energetic event. Hi!

Pennywell Events started in the name of passion;
passion for a good party, for an elegant and personal experience, but mostly passion for creating a spectacular event. I'm Alicia, the owner/planner/"it" girl of Pennywell Events. I absolutely love to plan weddings, no really, it's what I have dreams about most nights. I worked in the NYC fashion industry for about 5yrs, and while it wasn't what I w

as hoping for, it did give this New Orleans native the opportunity to move back to Louisiana. It also gave me the chance to expand my knowledge and eventually find out that I really wanted to plan weddings! I really got my first taste for wedding planning with my own wedding in October 2011. I was living in Brooklyn, NY and planning for the wedding in New Orleans, LA (my hometown). Throughout the engagement period, all of the fine details, such as the importance of the best venue for the event, the right lighting to set the mood, and the music to pull it all together, became even more crucial as I was planning from 1,300 miles away. Six months post-wedding, I and my then new husband moved to Monroe, LA to pursue new opportunities. I started working with a local wedding coordinator and dove head first into all that wedding and event planning could offer. After working in the wedding planning industry for a number of years under the direction of other professional planners, I knew that I wanted to, and could, offer a professional and fun experience to anyone planning an event. Today, Pennywell Events is available to assist couples in planning a unique and memorable wedding without the overwhelming stress. I have experience in managing events from Tennessee to Georgia, and even that party city,
New Orleans. I will professionally handle any event, including events at out of town locations. If you have any questions or just want to know more about what
Pennywell Events can do for your event, you can contact me through the "Message" button above or by emailing [email protected]

Allison and I had such a blast at The Chicory's Open House last night! The food was phenomenal, especially that red snapper with chimichurri. The drinks were on point, especially the espresso martinis with the XO tequila. But best of all was seeing so many of our beloved vendors like Chris from Jess from and Caroline of and finally getting to meet Donovan from in person after working together for years over emails and texts and calls! We also had the chance to sit and talk all things second line parade with John from

Thank you to for throwing such a fun event and inviting us! And thank you to all the decor vendors like and for showing off their talents!

If you are looking for your wedding venue, you should absolutely check out the Chicory if you love good food, excellent staff and beautiful spaces!

Always scouting the best venues for my couples — and some I already know by heart. 🤍 Heading back to The Chicory for their open house this Friday evening and I cannot wait to walk through this gorgeous space again with fresh eyes.

If you're a New Orleans couple still searching for your perfect venue — this one is worth a serious look. And if you're a fellow vendor who'll be there Friday, come find me! I'd love to connect.

Ps. — I still have select dates available for fall 2026. If you've been thinking about reaching out, now is a great time. Link in bio to get started.

I need a favor: I'm trying to finish getting Pennywell Events listed on Zola and in order to get your listing to go live they require you to have reviews from past couples or fellow vendors. If you have a moment to send a review, here is the link: https://www.zola.com/inspire/public-recommendations/60fd0173-2212-4220-883d-c0df7b69f338

Thank you!

As a token of appreciation here is a fun video of Allison and I at one of the bridal shows we attended together being our usual silly selves!

Sometimes when I move a couple's folder from active wedding to completed, I get a little sad. But then I remember that they are now in a whole new group of married couples/completed weddings and a couple that myself and my team were able to give absolutely everything we could to ensuring they were able to enjoy their wedding day and wedding weekend without having to worry or stress or answer 1400 questions that took them out of those amazingly special moments with the friends and family that they love.

So like moving that tassel from one side to the other at graduation, here's to another successful and beautiful wedding complete and another couple as newlyweds.

Cheers to all of the couples that have completed their journey with us. Thank you for letting us be a part of it all.
