When The Sixpence | Midwest Wedding Venue appreciates your excitement, it leads to sweet memories and nostalgia.

Here are some scenes from one of my most memorable nights there. It was the perfect blend of family, fun and love. This expressive couple and their loved ones made this day a lighthearted celebration that left a lasting impression on me.

They were all about taking advantage of all the photo ops in, out and around the Sixpence. This is a little peak at why I love filming there!!

Higher Love Entertainment was the DJ for the evening.

POV: you hired a filmmaker that’s as invested in your day as you are.

Every wedding has moments you’ll want to revisit forever. For a big portion of my life, this isn’t an option.

Due to losing so much to a natural disaster, I know well the longing one may feel for people, places and things of the past. I know what it’s like to not have access to precious memories.

I don’t want anyone to experience what I live with. It’s what drives the storyteller in me. It’s what drives what the experience of working with me is like. When all is said and done, it’s how I know I’m in the right place and doing what I’m supposed to be doing.

If you’re looking for someone that’s as emotionally invested as you are, you have found your filmmaker.

We made their wedding teaser look like a blockbuster trailer. Then the real film was a gamer love story.

I wanted this couple to feel like they were watching a teaser for a movie they were about to star in, so I built something dramatic and cinematic that looked nothing like what was coming. Everyone was thrown off the scent.

The full film is who they really are: gamers in their element, having fun and bonding over the adventures that brought them together. Yes, there are tears. But the heart of it is joy.

Wedding films are serious business, even when the film itself is silly. Yours should look like you.

Before you hire uncle bob for your video:

Lighting, sound design, framing, frame rates, depth of field, bit rates, color temperature, vocal normalization, aperature, digital noise, XLR inputs, storage capacities, sequencing, wave syncing and it goes on and on and on and on are all topics your filmmaker should have a working knowledge of.

Investing your resources into someone that doesn’t understand these things is risky, especially if there’s no opportunity for a do-over.

Think about what you’re looking to have documented. You may be able to afford hiring said individual, but can you afford to lose what you’ve hired them to do?

POV: you get a highlight reel of the night before you even leave the wedding.

You don’t get to keep a lot from this night. That elated feeling in what you have to hold on to until you get your pictures and video delivered.

To help you keep that high, I offer on the spot wedding film edits. That way you have a video to keep all those huge emotions and moments fresh in your mind and in your heart as you prepare for the rest of your life together.

Weddings are such a blur. So much happens without you even knowing it. It’s one of the many reasons I love video. You get to keep parts of your day in sound and motion, just like it was when you first experienced it.
